The ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE is a high-end socket 1155 motherboard targeted to the forthcoming "Ivy Bridge" processors (third-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors) and also supporting the current "Sandy Bridge" models (second-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors). The introduction of the first member of the new Cougar Point chipset family, the Z77 Express, happened several weeks before the availability of the Sandy Bridge CPUs they were designed for, so we've seen a number of these motherboards become available at retail recently. Out of all the different types of hardware that I look at, motherboards - along with graphics cards - tend to be one of those that I look at most often from a wide range of manufacturers. And whilst this is all well and good for the high end enthusiasts and power users out there, for those people that are on a mainstream platform and are not really after all the high end styling and features that go with a top end board , there are not that many boards that I have looked at in the grand scheme of things.
