I'm going to be honest here when I say that I wasn't on the Fusion bandwagon from the start. I liked the idea behind it, but I wasn't sure if we would actually ever see it eventuate, or at least eventuate to a product that we would want to own. Fusion is here, though, and it's time to decide if this is something that's going to line AMDs pockets with money, or will be a good idea that hasn't been executed well. Our first look at Fusion is going to come in the form of a retail board which will be hitting shelves soon.

The Extreme6 P67 motherboard from ASRock is one of their high-end products for the Sandy Bridge CPUs and features a 16+2 Power Phase Design, a decent software+hardware bundle along with the NF200 chipset to enable 3-way SLI on this P67 board.

The ECS H67H2-I is a very small mini-ITX motherboard for socket 1155 processors, thus being targeted to the new "Sandy Bridge" CPUs. It is based on the Intel H67 chipset and comes with one PCI Express x16 slot, allowing you to build a powerful gaming system using a very small case, and tons of extra features such as Bluetooth connectivity and USB 3.0 ports. Let's take a look at this new release.

CES has always been home to the latest offerings from the smallest and biggest brands in the market. This was the prime location for AMD to launch their Fusion APU which will be the first in a long line of products that combine a CPU and GPU together, much like Intel's successful Sandy Bridge platform that launched around the same time.

I just got off a conference call with Intel and it looks like they got a mess on their hands right now. Intel had a design oversight with one of the metal layers of their 6 series chipset, so they need a re-spin of the silicon to fix the issue. This issue is on all 'Cougar Town' 6 series chipsets and Intel said that slightly less than 8 million of these chipsets have already been made. All of those chipsets have Serial-ATA (SATA) ports within the chipsets that may degrade over time, potentially impacting the performance or functionality of SATA-linked devices such as hard disk drives and DVD-drives...

In the short time since Intel released Sandy Bridge earlier this month, we have seen multiple new boards supporting all-new features from several different manufacturers. ASUS were among the first to launch with Intel, offering several different P67 / H67 motherboards to cover every segment of the market. Today we will be taking a look at the P8P67 EVO, one of nine new P67 Express motherboards from the Taiwan industry giant.

AMD released the Fusion APU at CES several weeks ago, their first release which combines a CPU (central processing unit) and a GPU (graphics processing unit) on the same chip. While the mobile space is going to be one of the primary focus points for this new technology, today we are looking at a full HTPC system prototype from MSI – a build which will be hopefully adopted by system builders across the globe.

Today we are going to be looking at the M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 motherboard from Asus which is geared for users who want to overclock their system. It features their ‘Xtreme Design’ and dual intelligent processors design which we’ve seen on most of their latest motherboards so users can squeeze every possible ounce of performance from their system.
