One company who are known for their quality mobile devices are Archos and a couple of months back they announced their own up to date range of Android tablets, the 70 and 101. These devices are based on Android 2.2 (currently) and aim to provide a better quality of product than the cheaper tablets while aiming to get close to the performance of the Tab. Today we are looking at the 101 to find out if it offers an acceptable level of quality, performance and features for those who don't see the Tab (or Xoom) as value for money.
In our launch coverage of Intel’s Sandy Bridge we took an in-depth tour of the platform’s capabilities. But our previous coverage was limited to a higher end member of the CPU lineup with a 95 watt TDP, that made is less ideal for dedicated home theater PC (HTPC) use--especially considering its tantalizing siblings scheduled to arrive shortly thereafter. Fortunately we now have a 35 watt Intel Core i3-2100T and DH67CF Mini-ITX motherboard in hand and will be taking a detailed look at the lowest powered desktop CPU and smallest LGA1155 motherboard Intel has to offer.
In the past we have looked at a mini-ITX motherboard branded in the shape of the Jetway NC63-330-LF using an Intel Atom N330 Dual-Core 1.6GHz processor but as times change, so does the technology and the features used. This is where we introduce the Jetway NF96FL-510-LF with its improved processor (which is loosely based on the Atom 330), different chipset and improved features.
Jetway is well know for their Mini-ITX motherboards. Based on the Intel Atom is this a perfect base for a small energy saving and environmental friendly HTPC or Home server system. Jetway provided us a D525 CPU and GT218 gpu motherboard and we will take it through a series of multimedia tests. Already served well in a previous review for Home Server we will only focus on the HTPC part.
While much of Intel's world has been thrown into a tizzy by the Q1'2011 Intel P67/H67 chipset recall (initial B2 stepping only), we thought it timely to look in on Intel P55 motherboards from ASUS that offer some of the bells and whistles of Intel P67 platforms, with none of the bad recall aftertaste. MSI P67A-GD65 is an interesting motherboard that implements chipset features well and offers decent peripherals and proprietory technologies. The board has an adequately simple cooling system, high-quality and compact CPU VRM, convenient utilities.

Mit dem H67H2-I will der Hersteller ECS nun beweisen, dass passende Hauptplatinen auch im winzigen Mini-ITX-Format möglich sind. Dieses Mainboard soll nicht nur alle Sandy-Bridge-CPUs unterstützen, sondern auch mit ausgewachsenen Grafikkarten zurechtkommen.
One thing about the Sandy Bridge launch that has been different about any other CPU launch that I have covered has been how many motherboards were launched at the same time. I was shocked at the number that came in even before the CPUs arrived. Still, it is a good thing in most respects as it gives you plenty of choices unlike a few other CPU launches that I can think of.
Better late then never, is the saying this time for Sapphire as it introduces a new premium board into the Intel market. First impressions are key. With Sandy Bridge in a state of hiatus for the next couple of months, a specific sector of our audience may decide to opt for the previous-generation platform which is now thoroughly tried and tested. These people are more likely to be building a media system which doesn’t require all the processing grunt that Sandy Bridge has to offer.
