My first exposure to DLNA devices was lacking. It was the clunky standard that everyone “supported” in their own way, but no one really did well enough to call “working”. After reading this review you might wonder why you would need to buy a device like this. If you're looking for a NAS to quickly share files, there are other products that are better in terms of pure speed. The performance with the NAS Performance Tester is good, but the 5big Office+ didn't do as well with the more practically-oriented Intel NAS Performance Toolkit. Synology or QNAP have products that are better suited in that case. But if you need a good back-up solution for a small business with an Active Directory and up to 25 PCs, then this is a good solution. The fact that it also looks good, is an added bonus.
Building a Small Form Factor Mini-ITX computer can be challenging, but it is worth the extra work as the end result can be amazing. We managed to stuff a ton of enthusiast grade hardware into a PC case that measures just 9.06" x 12.33" x 14.29" (WxHxD)! We still ran into a few minor issues here and there, but at the end of the day it all worked out and the system came out just how we wanted it to. Our dream mini-ITX system is ready for any task you want to throw at it!
