HTPCs have certainly been around for a while, but a growing trend in recent years is the use of cut down versions of this. Mini PCs and Media centres are beginning to dominate people’s lounges as DVDs go the way of VHS and digital streaming is what its all about. Internet access and better organisation of media are also benefits of this, and there’s plenty of companies to choose from if you fancy a setup like this.

ASRock has been in the game of making home theatre computers for some years now. They just keep getting better and better. Admittedly there hasn't been that many innovation based changes, since even the first released models were pretty good, but the Taiwanese company known primarily for their motherboards are consistent with bringing out new models based on the latest and greatest hardware.

Getting our hands on a new product is always exciting so we thought we would share it with you! We've been anxiously awaiting the Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 ever since we first saw the prototype of the CableCARD product at CES. If you haven't heard by now, the WinTV-DCR-2650 is a dual-cable tuner that connects to a PC via USB--a great option for small form factors or a situation where there's no free PCIe slot available. It also happens to be the most inexpensive way to gain access to the entire subscription package from a cable provider on a PC with a retail price of $149. Enough about what it is, let's take a look at it after the break!

Samsung has been in the digital camera market for quite a while and has had several DSLR cameras it has introduced. Today Samsung announces the new NX200 a mirrorless DSLR follow up to the original NX100 with several key areas of improvement. Shopping for a wireless router can be a bit of a crapshoot at times; every last one promises you the world, and problems can crop up with alarming frequency. Wading into this sea of uncertainty is a relatively unknown manufactuer, EnGenius. Their history is more with telephony than with networking gear, but this latest router they've sent us, the ESR-9850, shows some promise. Let's see if it can hold up when it counts.

"Generally the higher performance mobile systems have a significant power requirement and in order to satisfy this many manufacturers bundle a 100w+ PSU, often referred to as a "power brick" due to the size and weight of the unit. It doesn't have to be like that though and one company looking to offer a desirable alternative to the standard "brick" that we receive with powerful mobile systems is Cooler Master with their Universal Laptop Charger range."

For those of you that closely follow what I write about, you will likely remember the BitFenix Alchemy Cables we took a look at in early September. When I took at look at pretty much one of every cable extension they offer, my findings then were that I really liked the coverings choice with the blend of cloth fibers versus the plastic braided offerings available to DIY types or even in other pre-assembles cables. Factoring in the pricing and considering I shelled out $40 for a 6" custom 24-pin alone, BitFenix had the total package and I didn't even cover the seven color choices in the covering to go with any sort of color scheme.
