As part of PCSTATS Guide to Vitualizing Windows 8 we have a collection of really handy tips for Oracle VitualBox. Up first is how to configure a network share between host and virtual machines. Next up is a tip to getting USB 2.0 thumb drives working in the virtual environment - there's some extra configuration needed for this which is not quite self-evident. Following that we have a tip for bringing back the start menu in Oracle VM's of Windows 8 - this is certainly handy when proofing installations for office-wide roll outs. Enjoy!

Optoma's HD33 projector which is a full 3D 1080P projector gets reviewed by TechwareLabs. Through a full 90 day review we were very impressed with the Optoma HD33 projector and were very reluctant to ship it back. The Optoma is a very well designed, very bright and sharp projection. The very simple option and use made the setup and usage ever so simple. All you need is a wall big enough to project on and 3D content.

As the glue in a well-equipped home theater, the audio video receiver (AVR) is a natural hub where audio and video processing can be consolidated into a single device alongside other functions like over the top (OTT) IP services. Onkyo has embraced this ideal with the 135 watts per channel TX-NR818, which offers decoding support for all of the modern audio codecs, HQV video processing and scaling up to 4K UltraHD. More importantly when it comes to room correction, arguably the most important feature of a modern AVR, the TX-NR818 offers Audyssey‘s flagship MultEQ XT32 – an outstanding feat given its $1200 MSRP (~$800 street). With all of the features included, the TX-NR818 seems to be an incredible value, offering unmatched capability per dollar. Moving beyond the spec sheet however, nothing is without compromise – let’s dig in and discover where Onkyo’s 2012 mid-range master excels, and where it does not.

That is what Olympus promises with their Stylus Tough 6000 digital camera. So we took a close look at the Stylus Tough to see how it delivered on these promises.

HDTVs are rapidly becoming the norm rather than the exception. With such new-found popularity, there are more TVs than ever to choose from. The wise consumer contemplates overall value rather than just size and brand name. Benchmark Reviews seeks out the value in HDTVs with this review of the 27-Inch 1080i Widescreen Olevia 227V-S11 LCD HDTV; a steal at just over $400. Olevia is quickly making High Definition the standard with their affordable line of HDTVs, and they aren't skimping on quality in the process.

A quick search on the internet defines Goliath as being of colossal power or achievement. As much as we are going to introduce you to a new age in solid state drives with this pre-release review of the OCZ Vertex 240GB SATA 3 SSD, the name is as suitable for SandForce as it is for this drive itself. Quite frankly, the results pulled from this SSD were completely unexpected.

Thermal paste is quite literally the first line of defense in the WAR on heat. I prefer to think of my thermal compound as Special Forces. It operates best with a small tactical insertion working both separately and in conjunction with the larger forces (Heatsink /cooler) to ensure a successful operation. There are many choices on the market, today we test the OCZ Freeze and find out how well it works.
