With the next version of Visual Studio soon to be upon us, we're taking a look at what's worth waiting for. While some animosity exists around certain decisions made by Microsoft, VS11 brings a lot to the table, most notably the addition of a robust environment for creating Metro-based apps.

The Zeo Bedside Sleep Manager is an interesting product which helps us track our sleep during the night by analyzing the obtained data, wake at the optimal time during the morning using SmartWake Alarm feature and more. The product is shipped with a SoftWave sensor headband and the bedside unit can be also used as a regular alarm clock if needed. The mobile platforms were not left out either, Zeo giving us for free download apps for both iOS and Android.

What began as an impressive technology demo in 2009, appeared two years later as a new connector on the 2011 edition of the Apple MacBook Pro. Now the same technology is arriving in the world of Windows. Intel's Thunderbolt technology will drastically reduce the number of cables between computers and their peripheral devices.

Our experience with the Netgear N900 router is that it handles complex traffic very nicely and is really transparent on your network. We never had any issues at all with trying to stream movies or music. This included 1080p movie files as well as FLAC and other lossless music files. After we tried to overload the network we did notice that WMM does make a difference in your connection speed so if there is one recommendation we can give to users out there, it is to check your router’s firmware and enable WMM. Many manufacturers will try and use the functionality of WMM or QoS and market these tools as unique to their own brand, but you should know and recognize that many routers and most newer WiFi adapters support this function already. However, most people don’t know that they need to actually turn it on...

How many times have you left home only to find out that your smartphone was almost out of battery? Well i don't know about you all but it has happened to me more than once and although i remember a time when we didn't have cellular phones (and not a care in the world) now these little devices have become part of our daily lives (for good or bad) and so most of us can't afford to have them run out of battery while on the road. That's also the main reason as to why i started testing battery packs (external batteries) a while back and i have to say that they have saved me from lots of trouble. Today's review is about one such device and more specifically the Slimtalk 3200mAh External Battery by Anker.

If you are familiar with Sentey, you'll recognize a certain pattern they have when releasing their computer cases. They generally release a style of case and then release a few more with the same style and some minor changes. There will be an R version of the case that has red highlights, a B version with blue, W for white, and so on. In some case series they will also release a V version with a different side panel (usually windowed). In the case of the Optimus series, as well as a couple of other series, Sentey has now released a II version of the case. At Benchmark Reviews, we have a Sentey GS-6000 II Optimus case on hand and ready break down to explore what they've changed on this one.

Yesterday the IEEE group (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) announced the next standard in Ethernet connectivity which should be able to achieve remarkable data transfer speeds ranging from 400Gbps and up to 1Tbps. Of course to most users this will not be of much importance (at least at first) but for enterprises and professionals such speeds will be of tremendous value (especially when used alongside large SSD arrays). Until that day comes however the only equipment available to us are 1Gbps modem/routers and 500Mbps Powerline adapters like the ones we've been testing lately and because many of you seem to be out searching for the ideal adapter today we are testing the latest TPL-405E 4-Port 500Mbps Powerline AV adapter by TRENDnet.
