I recently reviewed AC Ryan's PlayOn!HD2, which is the bigger brother of today's entry that worked out heaps when it was young and grew to be a huge, goliath football-playing Media Player. This is the smaller sibling who stayed inside playing video games and never picked up a weight in its life.

This article delves into the new UEFI architecture and why it is much more important to the computer world than you think. Computer hardware has evolved a great deal in the past few decades. Graphics cards and sound cards are providing life-like graphics and theater quality sound, terabyte size spindle hard drives are being paired with blazing fast SSD drives for limitless storage for the common user, while huge quantities of RAM and CPUs are providing six- (soon eight-) cores for incredible multi-tasking capabilities. Rounding out all that hardware is the motherboard, the backbone of your system.

Last fortnight, I was a guest at the Sony Showcase Building in Ginza, Tokyo, to take a look at one of the more interesting and unique new gadgets from the electronics giant in some years. The HMZ-T1, otherwise known by the somewhat more interesting moniker 'Personal 3D Viewer', looks like an accessory of Professor X, but the headset which beams 3D images directly to the retina will soon be available to the Japanese market. For a brief few minutes I was given a hands on demonstration with a prototype device and I'd like to tell you all about it.

For those holding on to an aging HDTV or projector which lacks HDMI support, there are few options in a world where component (YPbPr) output is slowly being stripped away. In fact, until recently there were only two, the HDFURY II and HDFURY III; but with the lower model starting at $180, neither is a perfect option for the thrifty. Fortunately, there is now another solution provided by a company best known for their high quality HDMI cables; the MonoPrice HDMI to Component & R/L Stereo Audio Converter (MYCH01 / Product ID: 8125). With an asking price of $39.92, it is natural to expect some compromise; after all we often get what we pay for.

BlizzCon 2011 has wrapped up in Anaheim California and its safe to say that this year, unlike BlizzCon 2010, Blizzard had plenty to talk about. With a big announcement on the next World of Warcraft expansion, lots of talk about the next StarCraft 2 expansion and the finishing touches being put on Diablo 3.

The amount of USB 3.0 products in the market has been increased rapidly due to its greater speed; ~10x faster than USB 2.0 in theoretically. However most of the USB 3.0 products are only designed for USB flash drives not for other devices like card reader. Today we are going to introduce you one of the Kingston's latest USB3.0 products; USB 3.0 Media Reader for SD cards, Micro SD cards, CF cards and Memory Sticks.
