One of the things i really like about the electronics industry is that no matter how many manufacturers there are at this exact moment in time there will always be more around each day that goes by and so although I’ve been testing hardware (standalone) media players for the past 5 years (or so) i have yet to cooperate with all of them something which some of you keep reminding me from time to time (as you should). Xtreamer may not be the most famous hardware media player manufacturer (A.C.Ryan is and unfortunately they are not doing well so that means little nowadays) but they've been around almost from the very beginning (i think they were established in late 2008/ early 2009) and they are known to manufacture cost-effective yet feature-rich solutions. So since their latest media player & streamer is called the Prodigy Black and has been around for over a year we thought it was about time that we took it out for a test drive.

Since the first PC, launched in 1981, the computer has had expansion slots where you can install additional cards to add capabilities not available on the motherboard of the computer. Currently, the most common type of expansion slot available is called PCI Express. In this tutorial, you will learn everything you need to know about this kind of connection: how it works, versions, slots, and more.

We mainly know SilverStone for their cases and for good reason, they are high quality and look great. What if SilverStone took that same quality and put it into a LCD monitor mount? Then you would have what we are reviewing today which is the ARM Two ARM22SC dual LCD Monitor Mount from SilverStone. LCD arms are a great addition to any computer setup, especially if you are using a multi-monitor system. The ARM22SC is constructed with robust aluminum alloy and steel so this is a heavy duty piece of hardware. It will support two displays with VESA mounts. Read on as we get this installed and see how it transforms our desk.

I am a big fan of airsoft. I not only have my own collection of guns, but I have a slew of upgrades attached to my equipment as well. To be honest, I would go as far arguing airsoft is much more fun and realistic than paintball; and hence, why I have invested so much time and money into such an expensive hobby. And as an airsoft enthusiast, I not only play the sport itself, but am also into many types of first-person shooter games, whether it is on my computer or on my Playstation 3 (This includes shooting up zombies with my colleague Jeremy during office hours, haha). And of course, as obvious as it may seem, camouflage is a very important aspect in the world of airsoft in being able to protect yourself from easily spotted by the enemy. Being a more defensive player myself, I tend to hide and sneak around while playing on the field, and usually, this includes fortified bunkers and protected shelters. Speaking of bunkers, recently, I so happened to have stumbled across a product that quite intrigued me. Until that point in time, I had never thought that such a military theme could be implemented so nicely in the world of computers, other than the fact that shooter games are available for play. When I first saw the NZXT Bunker on the manufacturer's website, I immediately thought to myself that this is a must-have accessory, especially for computer enthusiasts like yours truly. The name itself already provides me with a good idea that it will provide some physical security to my peripherals, whatever it may be designed for. Further investigation tells me that it protects your USB cables and flash drives from being easily taken, especially when you are at LAN parties. Without further delay, let's read on to see what I have found out about the NZXT Bunker!

The SilverStone EC03 is an internal expansion card that uses a single lane PCI Express slot on the motherboard to provide SuperSpeed USB 3.0 functionality. Its single USB 3.0 internal connector offers output for dual front port USB 3.0 support. Is this a good solution to update your aging PC so it can support USB 3.0 devices? Read on to see what this inexpensive solution is and how it performs in our test system.

So I needed another switch for my network, wi-fi is nice but it’s not the best I prefer a wired network especially since I’ve already got the wires running all over the place. I wanted a well made switch so I opted to get one with a metal housing from TRENDnet, specifically the TEG-S50G which is from their GREENnet line meaning it’s supposed to use less power than others on the market and saving money anywhere I can is a good thing. This specific switch is the 3.0R version or it’s the latest one available and it’s a five port gigabit switch that’s very simple to use as it’s really just plug-and-play truly. I have another ‘green’ switch from D-Link and I’ve put that up against the TEG-S50G for comparison, so read on to learn more…
