Today we are going to look at another product from Noontec’s range, the A9 Smart TV Box. We were initially a little worried that it would suffer from the same clunky user interface as the MovieHome V8 but we were pleasantly surprised to see Android 2.3 on the specification. Lets see if the A9 succeeds where the MovieHome V8 did not!

Yesterday the IEEE group (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) announced the next standard in Ethernet connectivity which should be able to achieve remarkable data transfer speeds ranging from 400Gbps and up to 1Tbps. Of course to most users this will not be of much importance (at least at first) but for enterprises and professionals such speeds will be of tremendous value (especially when used alongside large SSD arrays). Until that day comes however the only equipment available to us are 1Gbps modem/routers and 500Mbps Powerline adapters like the ones we've been testing lately and because many of you seem to be out searching for the ideal adapter today we are testing the latest TPL-405E 4-Port 500Mbps Powerline AV adapter by TRENDnet.

Up for review today I’ve got a Playstation 3 controller, but it’s not just any it’s a special edition Batman Arkham City themed one. The controller is called the Batarang after the famous weapon that Batman uses. It’s not your typical PS3 controller, it’s styled more after an Xbox 360 controller in terms of the layout of the control sticks. The Batarang features seven different lighting effects so you can actually change the colors depending on the mood you’re in or even the game you’re playing. Overall I like the Batarang, it’s not a bad controller even if you’re not using it to play the new Batman Arkham City game.

For its small size the Mobile Boombox sounds very good, even with the volume maxed out the sound doesn't distort. The volume doesn't go very high, however, and the sound is very directional. Like most Bluetooth speakers, the Boombox sounds better when you hook it up with the 3.5 mm jack instead of Bluetooth.

Have you ever wished you could use the same headphones or earbuds for everything like your PC, MP3 player and gaming console? I don’t know about you but I find it annoying that we have to buy separate headsets for everything we have. A little company called Xjacker feels the same way I do and they’ve sent me over the Soniq Rush 2.0 Gaming Amplifier Kit for the Xbox 360. This product allows you to use virtually any headphones or earbuds with your Xbox 360 so you won’t need to buy a separate set just for your Xbox. This kit is also an amplifier like the name says and it allows you to adjust the volume and bass in your game right on the amplifier. So read on to learn more…

Google, which has become a powerhouse in the search category, has developed a new cell phone operating system called Android, and T-Mobile's G1 cell phone is the first piece of hardware that uses this new operating system. With both touch screen and built-in keyboard, the G1 is set to take on the Blackberry as well as the iPhone. Geeks everywhere love the G1 because the Android operating system is based on open-source code rather than proprietary operating systems like Microsoft's Windows Mobile or Apple's iPhone. That means that anybody can make changes to the operating system without consulting or paying Google. Also, for the most part, anyone can write applications that run on the G-1. So we set out to find out if this is just a cell phone for techies to love, or if it a serious competitor in the smart phone segment of the market.
