With its latest generation of integrated graphics, Intel set out to rival the performance of the mid-range mobile Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics card. And the tests leave no doubt about it, both 3DMark and the gaming benchmarks confirm that the Iris Pro Graphics 5200 is on the same level of or slightly below that of the GT 650M. That really is an achievement for an integrated GPU. The Pro Graphics 5200 is on average about 2.5 times faster than the most powerful integrated graphics from Intel's previous generation processors.

Digital music and portable digital music players have transformed our listening experience. Today I’ve got another media player review for you, I figured why not follow the CiragoTV Platinum CMC2000 Network Media Player with the Patriot Box Office review. You could call it a tale of two media boxes, not only is this a review of the Box Office but a comparison to the new CiragoTV CMC2000 media center. The Patriot Box Office might not be able to do all of the things the CiragoTV can but it’s a great product in its own right, in fact I like it better. The Box Office is a small media player that can use a 2.5” hard drive or not, it can play directly from your network or right off of a USB drive. The Box Office is also a NAS box of sorts and it even has a built-in Bitorrent client so you can use it instead of your computer for your torrents if you wish. So read on to learn more about what I think is an excellent media center, and see how it compares to the CiragoTV CMC2000 media player…

In their formulative years, some kids like to draw mythical creatures. Or dinosaurs. Or whatever their little minds can conjure up. Me? I drew airplanes exploding. Suffice to say, as a ten year old in mid 1996, there was not a movie I wanted to see anymore than Independence Day. The teaser trailer image of aliens attacking the White House is seared into my memory and became one of the iconic pop culture images of the 1990's. As the film approaches its sweet sixteenth, I decided take a look at how the prime example of sci-fi pulp up in the modern age.
The premise of Independence Day (or ID4 as its promotional abbreviation was known) is simple. An unknown and technically superior alien race enters the earth's atmosphere at strategic locations around the world. Their intentions are soon revealed when attempts to communicate with the alien ships result in a pre-emptive attack which destroys the biggest cities in the world. F-16 Navy Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) and scientist David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) are drafted into the cause to strike back at the invaders before there is nothing left to fight for.
