The Wi-Ex zBoost SOHO DataBlast YX550-VLTE-AWS definitely does what it promises to do, and it does it rather well. With zero configuration, you can greatly improve the data signal strength in your home or office. The review unit was able to take a zone with just about zero signal and subsequently provide 4G download speeds approaching 3Mbps with 2-3 bars showing at all times.
For the past 10 years or so most newly build houses, office buildings and even some apartment complexes are network-ready meaning they have shielded (most of the times anyways) CAT5/6 Ethernet cables installed in the walls coupled with at least one network plug in each room. This is without doubt the ideal solution for people who want and prefer the speeds offered by Ethernet connectivity over WiFi but unfortunately most houses (including my own) are way older than just 10 years. Powerline adapters have been in the market for many years and are pretty much the best choice for use with older buildings since they use the electrical wiring (power lines) to create a local network. Strangely enough however although this technology allows for much greater speeds than typical WiFi connections (especially over long distances) and also provides a much higher level of security not many consumers actually make use of them (on the other hand Office/Business sales are flourishing). Still our job is to thoroughly test the ones available in the market and so todays review is about the latest PlugLink AV 500Mbps Adapter by Asoka, the PL-9670-Q2.
Today for review I’ve got one of the newest products from EagleTech that really doesn’t have any fancy name, it’s simply called the Neptor External Battery Pack. There are a few things that separate this portable battery pack from others on the market today. The first of them being the rather large 10,000mAh battery that’s inside of it that can charge most anything from phones to tablets. The second thing, and one of the most important I think, is the battery is user replaceable. The third thing that separates this from others out there is the fact that you don’t need any special tips or adapters, so there’s no additional cost. Some battery packs on the market are pricey initially, but then you have to go and spend more money on different tips for all the devices you would like to charge. You can easily end up spending close to or as much as the battery pack itself just on tips. The Neptor battery pack works very well at charging basically anything that can be charged over USB without the need for adapters and it has two USB ports, one with 2.1a and one with .5a output. The Cooler Master NotePal U2 Plus features two 80mm fans that can be moved around to focus on a laptop's hot spots. The NotePal U2 Plus uses a solid sandblasted aluminum base to help spread the heat from laptop components. Cooler Master set up the U2 Plus notebook cooler to be a multi-functional peripheral. It can be used as protection for a laptop while transporting, using the included strap, along with the additional cooling. Each of the 80mm fans pushes a steady 31 CFM of air and run at a quiet 21 dBA. The fans are powered by a single USB port and the connector includes a pass through, so you can still use the USB port
One of the biggest limiting factors in what you can do with watercooling is how much room you have in your case. With so much equipment to pack in for watercooling alone, space ends up being one of the chief concerns for builders and modders. And the single biggest limiting factor: how much radiator one can fit. Radiators are large, bulky, and inflexible in how they need to be installed. This can easily lead to the builder having to sacrifice cooling surface for space. There is a solution to this problem though; external radiator stands. Back in 2011, we tested mayonnaise as a thermal interface between the CPU and the base of the cooler. Amazingly, it worked nicely, proving to be, at least in a short term, a better thermal compound than several well-known commercial products. But, at the time, we could not determine how long it would continue to work before a degradation in performance was noted. This time around, we ran a long-term test to determine if mayonnaise can last as a thermal compound.
Genius is a fairly new company in North America where peripherals and computer hardware are concerned, but they have quickly turned heads by creating very unique products.
