ASUS is usually known for its motherboards and GPUs. However, they are becoming more and more known for the peripherals they are making, too. Their monitors are growing in popularity and in performance, as are their wireless routers and access points.

Today for review I’ve got the last of the Seagate Go Flex line of products that they sent me over for review. It’s the GoFlex TV HD Media Player, it’s the newest from Seagate and it work in conjunction with the GoFlex storage line. You can take the GoFlex 2.5” hard drive and toss your music and movies onto it, then just slide it into the GoFlex TV and you’re ready to go. You can also use the GoFlex TV for Netflix, YouTube and several other internet related things, or you can stream to it on your network.

This is the third piece in an ongoing editorial series, in which the introductory article identified several threats which could potentially put an end the desktop PC platform. To summarize that piece, desktop computers are at risk of extinction by a wide range of predators: notebooks, netbooks, Smartphones, PDA devices, and gaming consoles. In our previous Apple TV article, we un-boxed the A-TV and detailed what you would need to do to get your media files to play. Basically, once you have them in a ‘container’ that iTunes can understand (MP3, M4A) you would drop and drag them into iTunes so that they are visible to Apple TV.
