Built on the same design slate as the black diamond series, comes the ASUS USB-N53 Dual Band Wireless-N300 USB Adapter. The USB-N53 has two built in antennae and can operate on 2.4GHz and 5GHz signals at up to 300Mb/s. On the box ASUS claim that the USB-N53 has a "Superior antenna design for extensive wireless coverage more than 150%" and this does show through in our tests, our testing threw out some good numbers but nowhere near 300Mb/s which is understandable to a certain extent. The ASUS USB-N53 comes bundled with an adjustable USB cable that allows you to position the adapter for a better wireless connection. If you are eager to find out more jump on in and see if the USB-N53 is right for you.

Working at nights (just like now) is something i do a lot mainly because there's far less ambient noise around (and also less distractions) allowing me to perform noise level tests far more accurately than during the day. However what's really hard is sitting in front of a 30" LCD screen and typing without any other light source in the room (amBX lights are not strong enough) something which basically means strong and frequent headaches. To avoid that you must put less strain to your eyes and for that you always need to have a light turned on in the same room which is something i don't really like especially since the ones I have in this room are very powerful for night use. Well Newertech may have the answer for me since they just released the NuGreen Energy Efficient Flexible Neck LED Desk Lamp.

We were brought over to the Samsung Smart TV that was connected to the internet with an Ethernet cable and loaded with Gaikai’s online gaming app that is needed for access to the NVIDIA GeForce GRID cloud gaming platform. A few seconds later we were playing Meteor Entertainment’s new mech warrior game Hawken from a data center about 10 miles away in the heart of LA. Keep in mind we were doing this with just a TV and the remote control as the hardware running the game was miles away...

Hard disk drive docking stations are amongst the very few things that have really made things easier for me (and i bet for most of you as well) since it's a lot more convenient to just insert an disk drive in them and start working on it than opening your PC Case and installing it inside. That being said HDD docking stations are not really ment as a permanent solution since an internal SATA connection is a lot faster than eSATA and USB 2.0/3.0 altogether (and you can't really damage a drive as easy as when it's out in the open) but that doesn't necessarily mean that you can't use them for a long time if you don't really care about having the best possible transfer speeds. However that's not all and so recently we see more and more of those docking stations featuring cloning capabilities allowing pretty much anyone to clone a drive without much effort. The latest RaidSonic ICY BOX IB-120CL-U3 HDD Docking & Clone Station is such a device and we decided to take it for a ride.

For years Computex has been one of the premier ICT (Information, Communication, Technology) trade shows and has done a superior job in promotion as well as ROI. With the completion of Computex 2012 I want to focus on the big picture for you. Computex has tradionally been a platform for product launches and business acquisition, but what about this year? Has Computex 2012 brought with it the same ROI for exhibitors, visitors, and buyers worldwide? The answer is a resounding yes, but the way in which it has done so has formed a trendline over the past few years which is as interesting as it is disturbing.

Network media players may not hold the same share in the market such as DVD and Blu-Ray players but as long as we keep getting larger storage capacity drives available to fit every bit of media owned by people there's simply no doubt it my mind that it will not take long before there's at least a single network media player in every house (personally i have 5). So if you've been following my media player reviews who should remember saying that Sigma Designs has yet to release their top-end HD decoding chip (i have no idea when they will) but since even their latest base solution the SMP8670/71 works like a charm many of the top manufacturers have decided to introduce more than just 1 solution based on it. Almost a month ago we reviewed the very good TV-301A network media player by Dune HD and today with us we have its little brother, the TV-101AW.

We live in dangerous times, i am sure that no one can really deny that so it goes without saying that we need to take extra steps to ensure the safety of both our loved ones and everything we own. This is partially as to why I’ve been testing various security devices during the past 5 years including IP cameras and motion sensors (the 2nd is more of a hobby to me). However setting up a security grid made out of several IP cameras around your house and/or your office is a lot more complicated than many seem to think and so today we are going to see how an 8-port 10/100Mbps PoE Switch like the TPE-PS44 by TRENDnet can aid you with that.
