Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have Ben’s ViRoiD build. Here is what he had to say about it: Pictures speak louder than words. Getting a 690 to fit in a prodigy is not a big deal until you start thinking about watercooling it, and a cpu, and ram. I wanted a color that matched the p8z77-i, and blue was the ticket. The orange case was chosen because of its location opposite of blue on the color wheel. Modding the front of the case to fit the 200mm rad was fun, plus it gave me some extra materials to make some psu covers with.

One of our most popular features post any tech event has always been a ‘whirlwind’ tour of the event, highlighting the beauty within. Computex 2013 is no different except for the characteristic of us spending just a bit more time getting these shots for your viewing pleasure. Between the pictures posted here at TSSDR, and also, those posted at our sister site technology X, we have a collection of about a hundred pictures. This would easily make our collection the largest found anywhere on the web for any single tech event!

With the introduction of the 802.11ac standard, Western Digital has brought the My Net AC1300 to the market. This protocol is designed to transmit 450 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band providing wired speeds wirelessly. While this standard is not yet commonplace and hardware that takes advantage of these speeds are still scarce it will soon gain a foothold as Apple has released its latest MacBook Airs with 802.11ac capability. Western Digital also sells the My Net AC Bridge to provide these speeds to areas that are not hardwired such as entertainment centers.

When it comes to building computers, one of the last skills that you learn is cable management. For most beginners it’s accomplishment enough to simply put a rig together and have it post. Eventually though you will want to learn to control and organize all those wires powering and connecting your precious components. For some though, simply organizing and hiding their wiring isn’t enough. And for those with the drive for a perfect looking rig, nothing compares with custom sleeving for your wires. This can be an expensive, time consuming, and sometimes an aggravating task. Luckily there are options! One of these is to have a set of custom sleeved extensions made for your build. Today we will be taking a look at a full set of custom extensions made by Acid Rain Sleeving and Modding.

Wireless networking has leaped from niche application to mainstream installations in a short matter of years, allowing homes and businesses to implement features like Wi-Fi Internet access and wireless multimedia file storage. The latest 300 Mb/s 802.11n (wireless-N) networks have been a big part of this transition, enabling transfer speeds similar to the cabled Gigabit Ethernet connections. This has made life more convenient, but for many installations range is still a problem. In this article Benchmark Reviews investigates the Diamond Multimedia WR300NSI Wireless Wi-Fi Range Extender. The purpose of this portable device is self-explanatory, and networking can be complicated, which is why we’ll test how well Diamond has kept it simple for the novice consumer in this article.

With its latest generation of integrated graphics, Intel set out to rival the performance of the mid-range mobile Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics card. And the tests leave no doubt about it, both 3DMark and the gaming benchmarks confirm that the Iris Pro Graphics 5200 is on the same level of or slightly below that of the GT 650M. That really is an achievement for an integrated GPU. The Pro Graphics 5200 is on average about 2.5 times faster than the most powerful integrated graphics from Intel's previous generation processors.
