Sins of a Solar Empire is one of those Real Time Strategy games that you won't be able to tear yourself away from easily. Sins is one of those addictive experiences that you start to gauge other games by. Very few space-based RTS games come close to perfection, and Sins is one of them. After playing Sins, you'll be daydreaming about it while trying to play other RTS titles. In this article, Benchmark Reviews offers our opinion of the Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion expansion pack.
Diablo 3 will undoubtedly be a success for Blizzard, both critically and financially. However, in their willful choice to not support AMD Eyefinity and NVIDIA Surround, Blizzard has chosen to ignore the desires of their most fervent userbase - those PC gamers who invest in cutting edge rigs and push PC gaming to its limits. Blizzard did add multi-monitor support through "fullscreen windowed" mode. Windowed mode in PC games introduces performance hits for users, and prohibits the use of CrossFire or SLI (something multi-monitor users will most likely need, and probably have). Blizzard could have gone the way of Torchlight II developer Runic Games and offer native multi-monitor support with a HUD (particularly the automap) built special for Eyefinity and Surround. Dragon’s Dogma was a game that was hiding just under the radar until a couple of months before release. Suddenly, all this information and gameplay depicting epic battles with fantastic, giant monsters started being hyped. I certainly hadn’t paid much attention to it until then, but experiencing the demo where I got to tangle with both a Chimera and a Griffin had me sold. Unfortunately, for everything the game gets right, there are a series of problems that make the experience incredibly frustrating.
