The original Dragons Dogma is one of my all-time favourite games and yet it’s also one of the least refined games I’ve ever played, but it offered something special, something that really stood out from the crowd and it’s easily one of the purest and most engrossing action RPG games of this console generation, the likes of which haven’t been seen on consoles since the PlayStation 2. While that may not sound like a long time ago, keep in mind that the PlayStation 3 is now 7 years old, the PlayStation 2 13 years old.
Dragon's Dogma takes place in an open world fantasy RPG setting that includes classic hack and slash content as well as horror elements which should come as no surprise. It is after all developed by the team behind Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.
Bioware’s new epic, dark fantasy RPG has been receiving a lot of attention lately. The game’s marketing team has hit the internet hard and you would practically have to be blind to miss all the online ads for the game. This is a special case in which all the hype and pomp is very much deserved.

Thankfully we are glad to report, for once, our expectations are met - this is possibly THE game of 2009.

To say that Dragon Age II has had an interesting development cycle would be the same as saying the sky is blue. Ever since the original game, it seemed like BioWare wanted to try something new with Dragon Age to reach a wider audience with it, and as such they have made major changes to what you saw in the original game. However, in many ways these changes make the game better. Dragon Age II feels a lot more structured and streamlined for the console and on this review platform (the Xbox 360) that is a welcome thing, but PC fans do have some reason to be angry as well.
