What we should all appreciate about Gears 2 is that the devs did not make it Gears 1 with more stuff. Instead of this game having five berserkers, 20 seeders, and a boss that was just Raam 2.0, the people at Epic said "Gears 1 was Gears 1, Gears 2 will be different.

Just a few weeks ago we talked about Realm of the Mad God, the “co-op fantasy mmo shooter” from Wild Shadow Studios. Even since then a lot of us here at ThinkComputers have been playing the game. I myself have unlocked all of the character classes, had many level 20 characters, explored many of the dungeons and even defeated Oryx a few times. Even though I’ve had some awesome characters with great gear I ended up dying and when you die in the game you are permanently dead. This is a real bummer, but it does keep the game interested. When you start a new character the first thing you want to do is get back up to level 20 so in this Gaming Friday I will be going over some of the easiest way to reach level 20.

DotA was originally created on Starcraft, but didn’t pick up speed until a fan of the original map took it over to Warcraft 3. As The Frozen Throne came out with updated features, DotA transitioned over. Here, DotA found huge popularity and a cult eSports following. Many games have since been made emulating DotA’s basic principle, and an entire genre has been created in its honor. MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games have grown at a phenomenal rate, and an example of success is League of Legends. Enter DotA 2. The first true successor to the original custom map is currently in-development by Valve and in closed beta. More people are added frequently, with online numbers reaching around 30,000 people at any time of the day.".

them or if it is just a case of developers seeing good profit margins and the market being flooded with hardware, I really have no clue, but one thing is for certain, it is becoming harder and harder to decide which Android console could be the right one to buy.
With devices like Ouya, Shield, M.O.J.O. and of course the one were reviewing today, Gamestick, there is really no shortage of choice and that is before you account for all the other mobile gaming devices such as smartphones, tablets, and dedicated hardware such as the PS Vita and 3DS. Although in fairness it isn’t right to include all handhelds, or in many respects the Nvidia Shield, because even though they are Android powered, the Gamestick, M.O.J.O and Ouya are all designed to work on your TV, or any other HDMI compatible device.
Mobile gaming has taken off in a big way thanks to the way it can support smaller developers and indie gaming titles. Gamestick hopes to bridge the gap between the games we know and love from mobile platforms with the convenience of a home games console. No more worrying about your phone having enough battery to play a few more games, no more small screen, no more touch screen controls, it’s time to take Android to the big screen!
Specification wise the Gamestick is no more or less powerful than your average mid-budget tablet, and as you can see from the specs below it might not be a hardcore gaming monster, but it is no slouch either.

In this article we have decided to make our selection based on the past performance of the developer, publisher and previous title in the series (where appropriate) but ultimately, the game is in the list if we think it looks cool. This is our 20 games for 2012 in no particular order (other than alphabetical)...

2010 has been a fantastic year for gaming, that is undeniable. From reading the first part of our year in review it's clear for all to see that 2010 has brought us some of the best games ever released, on all platforms. Not every game released has gone on to become an instant success though and this year has thrown up a number of titles which underachieved rather drastically. Yep, there have been some absolute shockers over the past 12 months, even games which had all the ingredients to be brilliant failed to deliver the goods.

1972 was a very special year for everyone who will be reading this right now and most of you will have no idea why... It's not a historical date in human history but it was the year in which the video games industry was born. The release of the first ever home video games console - the Magnavox Odyssey - was met with widespread acclaim and helped revolutionise home entertainment. A few years the Odyssey had a competitor, developed by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, Pong brought some much needed competition to the market which in turn jump started the entire gaming industry.
