The Nintendo 3DS is an excellent and fun little gaming system, I’m thoroughly enjoying mine that’s for sure. The system is great but are all of the games? When launched there weren’t many games available and some of them felt rather rushed. Today for review I’ve got Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D for the Nintendo 3DS and this is one of those games that I could have done without. This game is just extremely repetitive and honestly it’s boring. I’m sure children might think it’s a great game with the dinosaurs and all, but I think even they will get bored with it quickly.

At its core Dead Island is a mixture of hack and slash gameplay mixed with a number of RPG-ish elements. We play as one of four selectable characters who each have their own back story but essentially we wake up on a holiday island with the place in chaos. Our hotel is trashed, blood and bodies are everywhere, zombies roam free and we have to fight for survival from the start.

Last month we previewed Hard Reset for the PC and found it to be a romping, stomping, carnage filled chaotic FPS with enjoyable gameplay and an engrossing environment. It combines all of the best bits of classic shoot 'em' ups and sets it in a Blade Runner/Cyber Punk 2020 style universe. This coupled with between level cut scenes reminiscent of a Frank Miller comic made the game stylish and engaging throughout.

Before Stuntman, its poor load times and overall disappointing gameplay, Reflections was one of the premier racing developers around. Success with the original two Driver games on the PlayStation systems saw their games some of the most anticipated around, but a run of poor releases including Stuntman and Driver 3 (Driv3r) saw them drop down the food chain of hype.

The date is 08/09/2011. At 1800 hours I'm marching to the Thames to board the HMS Belfast. Sega have invited us to a press event to get some hands on experience with their latest Xbox Live Arcade title, Renegade Ops; and some body painted ladies. Despite living the furthest from this location, I'm the only XSR staff member aboard. That's dedication for you.

When Crytek announced Crysis 2 back in June 2009 at E3, it's needless to say there was quite a large reaction, whether it was a good reaction, or one of a sceptic - it was pretty large.
It had quite a challenge to live up to, as Crysis was regarded as one of the best PC games to ever be released, and still is regarded as one of the best looking games to buy for the PC. not to mention it's benchmark appeal, even to this day people ask "How well does it run Crysis" when reviewing or buying new hardware.

Resistance 3 is set four years after the events of Resistance 2 and Nathan Hale has succumbed to the Chimera so our new protagonist and member of the resistance Joseph Capelli has taken to hiding in a rats nest of tunnels under a small town in Oklahoma. Capelli narrates a very beautifully animated opening sequence to cover what has happened so far...

Thanks both to its stellar go-your-own-way gameplay and immersive cyberpunk world, the original Deus Ex is regarded as one of the best PC games of all time. Following up to such a cult classic isn't easy, but with Human Revolution, Eidos Montreal has proven that it didn't want to disappoint DX's hardcore fans at any cost.

While some games allow us to play with a controller or Kinect Rise of Nightmares very much pushes us down the latter route, Kinect is a requirement and everything within the game relies on it including the menu's and loading screen interactivity. Upon selecting our difficulty level we are thrown into a mini-tutorial mission based around two characters with terrible French accents. This mission fills us in nicely on the control method and sets the scene well for what we can expect from the game.

Every so often we hear about a first person shooter that’s supposed to break away from the traditional Call of Duty and Battlefield style games that have dominated the market for the most part. Codemasters’ Bodycount was aiming just for that – the name itself suggests that you’re going to kill more people than Jim Jones in a Kool-Aid store. Sadly, this title is too slowly paced and unpolished to quench your thirst for blood.
