Hungarian developer NeoCore Games have designed a strategy wargame along similar lines to the Total War series. The game delves into the legend of King Arthur and manages to create a strong fantasy role playing atmosphere. It is up to you to guide Arthur to the throne of Britain by killing enemy monarchs and their armies.
Kinect Star Wars differs from most games from the same franchise in that it offers a wide variation of game styles within the package. This isn't just a case of running about being a Jedi in an action game as many might expect. That aspect is present but from the main menu, featuring interactive C-3PO and R2-D2 we also get to access to pod racing, duel, destruction and... dancing... modes.
Killzone was one of the hottest games for the PlayStation 2, and the epic sequel that was Killzone 2 followed it with a great force. The series had a slow, gritty and powerful vibe that is a far cry from the frantic run and gun of games like Call of Duty and I absolutely love it. The Third entry in the series came on the PlayStation 3, a graphical juggernaut and it offered some brutal gameplay and hardcore online play, however I didn’t really love the game and it fell into many of the typical tropes that most of last generations shooter did, as a result it just didn’t excite me and I didn’t really feel compelled to keep playing.
Killzone as a series has had a really interesting time of it. Debuting on the PlayStation 2 as Sony Computer Entertainments answer to the mega blockbluster Halo: Combat Evoled on Xbox, it was also the show pony for the PlayStation 3 during its unveiling at E3 2005. However, this is where the series started to go off the rails with gamers worldwide calling out the demonstration presented as most likely impossible. And so it was proved. Killzone 2 launched on the PlayStation 3 to much fanfare, but it didn’t live up to the hype. Killzone 3 is the third attempt from Guerrilla Games and whilst they got a whole lot right this time around, they also got many things wrong.

Predictably, Killzone 3 applies the same tried-and-tested formula as its predecessor and in a similar vein to the Call of Duty series offers a rigidly scripted experience. As such, trial and error often prevails over strategy as we fight through situations by learning from the robotic behaviour of the Helghast soldiers. When we die and respawn, or during another play through, enemies behave in exactly the same way as before, taking up the same cover spots and running down the same flights of steps with little variation to their tactics.
