As this is the fourth major release in the franchise it comes as no surprise that the overall gameplay in Revelations is very similar to the previous games. We are Desmond, plugged into the Animus and play Altair and Ezio who featured in the previous three titles.

Those who have played, and loved, previous Elder Scrolls titles will know that the games are huge. Taking Oblivion as an example it was possible to play through that and its expansions reasonably quickly but the completists would see themselves playing for hundreds upon hundreds of hours to finish all of the side quests and discover everything the games had to offer.
I have been playing Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 together, getting to grips with the weaknesses and strengths with both titles. COD: MW3 left me with a rather sour taste in my mouth – because while I enjoyed the (short) single player missions I found that it was a strictly ‘paint by numbers’ experience, bringing nothing new to the table. Battlefield 3 has been the more enjoyable and entertaining of the two, without question.
If there is any game bigger than Call of Duty from the past five or so years, we'd like to see it. There is no doubt that Call of Duty, and especially the Modern Warfare series has had a significant impact on the gaming industry and developers have been trying to crack what made Call of Duty such a success for Infinity Ward. But the development of Modern Warfare 3 had its issues.

Oblivion was without question one of my favourite games of all time.
