If we asked you to name a target category for NZXT products, peripherals would probably be the last section on your list. Recent diversion into new markets by NZXT has changed things though. They are very quickly becoming a diverse brand looking to match their newer attempts in other product categories with the amazing name they have built themselves mainly through their cases. Today we have one of their latest releases, a mouse, the NZXT Avatar S to be precise.

Not everyone wants a weighted mouse with a dozen reprogrammable buttons and a configuration software that looks like it was made by NASA. Those super mice repel the less demanding user, the one who just wants a peripheral that is superior to the model used at the office but that doesn't cost a fortune or have more functions than needed. If you are like that, then maybe the NZXT Avatar S mouse might be the one you are looking for. Let us show why once we describe the product.

As the name implies, the IE2’s are version 2 of Bose’s in-ear headphone range. There are three different specifications available: the standard IE2 (which we will be reviewing), the MIE2 and at the top of the range, the MIE2i. The MIE2 headphones have a microphone and button for taking calls. The top specification headphones, the MIE2i also have an inline remote suited to work with iPhones, iPads and IPods.

Gaming mice have always been pretty expensive; even the perennial gamer’s favourite, the MX518, is £30. Some days you just don’t have that, and if you’re looking to buy a cheap second mouse or are new to gaming, you might find yourself looking at the Soyntec Inpput (sic) series. With rock-bottom prices (£9.99 on Amazon), the Innput R490 series skimps on the features to save money, offering a decently high DPI optical sensor in your choice of chassis colours. It very well might be a winning formula, but too often these budget products can suffer from their low-quality construction. Let’s see whether the R490 can avoid that particular trap to offer a great gaming mouse for under £10!

Logitech have always had a place in my heart for making some of the best peripherals around, and if I can be honest with you I'm a bit of a Logitech whore when it comes to my main system.

When USB3.0 was introduced to the market a couple of years back, there were very few products on the market that could make use of the high-speed interface. It was also very expensive to add USB3.0 functionality to your system with expansion cards costing in excess of £50 and peripherals being even more expensive.

Input devices will always be essential on a computer and peoples opinions on what makes a good mouse, for instance will vary so much that it is impossible to design a mouse that fits everyone's tastes. Manufactures for this reason design input devices, especially mice, to fit into a certain category. These can be 'Home and Office use', 'Gamer', 'Graphic Designer' and loads others. The hardest to please of those is usually the Gaming type user, who relies on his mouse and keyboard to play the games. For some people out there, gaming is not just something to do on a wet day and there is certainly a lot of money to be made as a professional gamer.
