MadCatz are a leading manufacturer and provider of some of the coolest products on the market, with their main focus on the console and portable gaming scene, but they do also cater for the PC peripheral market, especially when it comes to suitable products for flight simulator fans and XBOX consumers wanting to bring a bit of game to the PC in the form of a gamepad controller that their used to.

Second in this series of Massively Multiplayer Online gaming peripherals is the World of Warcraft Cataclysm (WoW) mouse. Produced by Steelseries and Blizzard Entertainment this mouse is designed to synergistically work with the game World of Warcraft more than any other mouse could. Out of the box the mouse has almost all of its 14 buttons mapped to specific in-game tasks, and each button can be re-mapped at the user's discretion. The mouse is designed to look like the scales of Deathwing, the killer dragon from the Cataclysm expansion, and its pulsing backlights give it a serious look. So the mouse looks great and has a ton of buttons, but is it any good? In short, yes it's pretty much awesome.

Not everyone wants to spend over $300 for a keyboard/mouse combo as a matter of fact most will be happy with a sub-$50 set that does the basics and nothing more. When I was recently looking for a keyboard and mouse desktop combo for my HTPC, I wanted to be under $30. It’s stated that the SlimStar 8000 will retail at $25 and at that price it is a deal!

Arctic are well known for producing a large range of cooling products which includes both CPU and GPU coolers. But more recently they have been aggressively diversifying their product range to encompass far more of the PC market.

It seems that producing an algorithm based surround headset is becoming quite a trend of late with several already having made their way to us for testing over the last few months. Obviously producing a simple stereo headset with software driven surround sound capability is going to be a cheaper and probably more viable option for most large companies, as opposed to more complex designs. And this is possibly why we are seeing such a swing in this direction of late.

Mouse pads today as we know them are a little underestimated for what they offer. If we look back a few years back to the days of mice that had the weighted balls in them that only performed at their best on a mat, some may wonder why we bother with them with today's technology?

The Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition keyboard is a product to consider when doing lots of gaming, but also typing activities, it is Tenkeyless so it takes very little space on the table and comes with the rare Cherry MX Red switches.

Razer make mice, mats, controllers and also headsets. However, like many different PC peipheral firms, they’re also diving into the console game. Today I take a peek at the Chimaera headset for the Xbox 360. Its wireless and has a foldable mic. Let’s check it out.
