The Kone from ROCCAT makes another appearance. Let's see what has changed in just over a year that gives this Kone mouse the XTD moniker.

When I got my hands on this mouse, I was thrilled to be doing the review. The German company ROCCAT is one of the top of the line gaming peripherals companies around today, very well known in Europe. Their USA launch started in 2012 and has been making a big impact with gamers. They started out with the Kone, then came the Kone[+], and now the Kone XTD, their flagship mouse. This mouse is powered by an 8200 DPI Pro Aim R3 laser sensor, a commanding 32-bit Turbo Core V2 72MHz ARM MCU processor, and the most advanced Tracking & Distance Control Unit around – all working in clockwork unison to deliver world-beating battle ability.

It's been a while since we had a Roccat product come through the eTeknix office, but some of you may recall the stunning Roccat Savu which we reviewed back in July, which earned itself our eTeknix Innovation Award. Today however we have something a little more unique and special from Roccat, the Kone XTD gaming mouse is a serious piece of gaming equipment and comes with a price tag of around £70-80 (prices from Google shopping).
Peripherals
This time last year ROCCAT released the KONE[+] to replace the original KONE Gaming Mouse, this year there are two upgrades for the KONE gaming mouse line - the KONE XTD and the KONE Pure. In this article Benchmark Reviews will be looking at the ROCCAT KONE XTD Max Customization Gaming Mouse (model# ROC-11-810). The KONE XTD looks exactly the same as its predecessor but there have been a few changes under the hood. For starters the KONE XTD boasts an 8200 DPI Pro Aim R3 laser sensor, a 32-bit Turbo Core V2 72MHz ARM MCU processor, upgraded Omron switches and an advance Tracking & Distance Control Unit. We were impressed with the KONE[+] so let's see if the KONE XTD is a worthwhile replacement.
Peripherals
For all that the Kone[+] is a great gaming mouse the market has moved on since its release and newer, higher performance sensors have been released. This has prompted Roccat to refresh their Kone range and today we look at the new high end model, the Kone XTD with its 8000dpi+ technology.
Peripherals
Today we take a look at ROCCAT's successor to the Kone[+], the Kone XTD. This mouse features 8 physical buttons, allowing for up to 23 different functions via Easy-Shift[+], a crazy 8200DPI sensor, and enough on-board memory to store five button profiles to customize just about every button on the mouse. Read on to see how this mouse fairs in the gaming world!
