Audio may not progress as fast and as much as graphics do and it's certainly not as important to most people (let’s face it the first thing most of us choose is the TV/Monitor and then the speaker system) but owning a good headset for use with your personal computer is never a bad idea, especially if you're not living alone. However choosing the right headset for you is certainly not the easiest thing nowadays due to the extremely large number of manufacturers and all the different designs and types available (stereo, virtual surround, surround) but in the end you can never go wrong if you choose to trust one of the well-known manufacturers. SteelSeries may not be a name you'd pick when going out to buy an general purpose headset but when it comes to PC peripherals (headsets included) they are without doubt one of the best manufacturers currently in the market and today with us we have their latest USB headset the Siberia V2 Frost Blue.

As all good companies do, SteelSeries have taken one of their existing products, and made a series of improvements, upgrades and enhancements. The original Siberia headset, already a success, did have a number of flaws; perhaps the most notable of all was the microphone. The V2 should be able to put all this right as well as a few other bits and pieces. So can the Siberia headset be transformed from a good headset to a great one? Let’s take a look...

Today we are going to look at another of SteelSeries’ headsets, the Siberia Neckband. This differs somewhat to what we have seen before from SteelSeries due to the neckband design which isn’t often used for gaming headsets. One of the main features that stands off the page for us is the Xbox compatibility, something it shares with the SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB headset that we reviewed a few weeks back.
