What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
(II. ii. 42-43).
This quote taken from 'Romeo and Juliet', and is spoken by Juliet. In this, Juliet is questioning why her love of her life is also from the family of her enemies. While most of us have read Romeo and Juliet in their earlier days, Juliet does bring up a good point. What is in a name? Not only humans, but companies also have their own sub-branding. For example Canon cameras have the Powershot/ELPH line for consumers, Rebel line for enthusiasts, and their EOS (Double digit and lower) for prosumers and professionals. But do these name even matter? Obviously, not so much, as Canon has started to merge names, like the EOS M, a compact system camera whose image quality lacks in comparison to any of the EOS DSLRs. So when Gigabyte was deciding a name for their next product, an air mouse, they decided to throw it under the sub-branding of Aivia. If anyone looks at other Gigabyte Aivia products, they will find a common trend: A gaming product with a unique or new design. Unlike Gigabyte’s Force lineup, these products are not only meant to game hard with, but to look good in the process. However, the Aivia Neon is not by any means a gaming mouse. Released in April 2013, this air presenter mouse's main purpose was to function well in the office or in a classroom. So what happens when Gigabyte decides to throw such an object into the Aivia branding? I guess we’ll have to read on to find out!

Late March Logitech came out with a number of updated versions of its gaming products, including the G19s gaming keyboard. We compared and contrasted it to the original G19 model, which has been available since 2009.

The R.A.T.M. mouse from Mad Catz is a fresh iteration of the previously released versions but with a more portable, compact revision. The use of Bluetooth 4.0 LE allows a battery life of about an year and for customizing the product we get software for both Windows and Mac OSX platforms.

Mad Catz really changed the game when they released their R.A.T. series of gaming mice. I always thought that the mice looked cool, but because of their design I doubted that they would be comfortable at all. Well after reviewing Mad Catz M.M.O. 7 mouse, which is based off the R.A.T. design my mind was really blown. Not only was the mouse one of the most comfortable I have ever used it was made of quality materials and worked very well. This year at CES Mad Catz let us know they were making a gaming mouse for mobile users and it is finally here, the R.A.T. M. This mouse is much smaller than your normal mouse, features 10 programmable buttons, a 6400 DPI laser sensor, and Bluetooth Smart technology. If you game on a laptop this may be the perfect mouse for you.

Corsair have been known to make some seriously cool peripherals in the last few years, most notably for me are their range of premium gaming mice such as the M65 and M95, both of which are some of the finest mice on the market and their K60 and K90 keyboards have already proven popular with gamers around the world and won multiple awards for their performance, but can the K70 live up to the high standards that Corsair sets themselves and can it bring anything new to the mechanical keyboard market given that the market is already pretty crowded with great options to spend your money on? Well that’s what I hope to find out today.
With a price tag of £119.99 (overclockers.co.uk) it’s safe to say this isn’t a budget model, once you get over the £100 price mark your well into enthusiast level technology and within this price range there are more than a few options to pick from with your hard-earned money such as the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate or the QPAD MK-85, both of which are incredible keyboards but when your spending this kind of money you want something exact, something that suits your play style, that offers a design your happy with and you also want premium quality and performance, many of which are subjective qualities and it will be interesting to see what the K70 has to offer.
