Cyborg already had the R.A.T. mouse line for FPS games in its catalog. Now the company releases the M.M.O.7 with basically the same R.A.T. body but aimed at MMORPGs, a game genre that has World of Warcraft as its prime example. The distinctive feature over the competition is the body, which resembles a Transformer. The M.M.O.7 has some exposed body parts and it is reshapable; that is, the user can change bits and pieces to adjust the peripheral to his or her hand. The mouse has 13 reconfigurable buttons that are able to control 78 functions, a weight adjustment system, and a sensor that reaches 6,400 dpi of resolution. First, we will describe its physical aspects and then proceed to its configuration and operation.

Since the inception of the first point and click device for computers, there has been someone sitting in a corner thinking to themselves "what can I do to make this better and more useful?" Over many years of evolution we went from mice with just one button on them, to mice with a pair of buttons and a scroll wheel. For many users this is more than enough to deal with as far as their point and click needs go for emails or finding a recipe for Peking duck for the next family gathering. For me, I prefer a mouse to have as many buttons on it as comfortably possible. By this I mean that if given enough buttons to my mice, I prefer to set my gun swap there, grenades, knife, even the push to talk for whatever application I am on at the time I am gaming. The latter part is the biggest concern to me and that is giving me what I want in options without having an odd shape or having to contort my hands in painful ways to utilize all of the buttons.

I’m no different. My “gaming” mice journey started out with a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer; then a Logitech MX 1000; then the Logitech MX Revolution; then the Logitech Performance MX; and currently with the Logitech G700. If you look at all these mice you can see that other than the MX 1000 the layout and look do not differentiate from each other much. The G700 I possess I thought was by far the best mouse overall I’ve ever used. Other than the battery life, when in wireless mode sucks balls, the mouse was a perfect fit for me. The size, the speed, the button layout, the complete overall feel…it was amazing. So, when Bob asked me to review the Corsair Vengeance M60 Performance Gaming Mouse I was a bit hesitant. I don’t like reviewing products that I have a defined bias towards even before I open the box. I couldn’t see how anything could be as good as my G700. Well, I’ve been using the M60 for 3 weeks now and boy was I wrong.

Mechanical keyboards have become increasingly popular over the last year, particularly as peripheral manufacturers sponsor pro-gaming teams, and today we’ve got one more: The somewhat redundantly titled Cooler Master Quick Fire Rapid, a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard available with your choice of Cherry MX Blue, Brown, Red and Black switches.
Like many other manufacturers, Cooler Master started out in a specialised area (cooling) but has since branched out into a number of different areas, including peripherals. Corsair has followed a similar path and impressed me with their Corsair Vengeance suite of mechanical keyboards and gaming mice; can Cooler Master do the same?
