The Roccat Isku FX keyboard is an update of the Isku gaming keyboard. The only real change is that the backlight of the keyboard now can be in any of 16.8 million colors, as opposed to only blue. The new keyboard also works with Roccat Talk FX, which means you can use the lighting in a Philips Ambi-light kind of way.
Peripherals
Recently ROCCAT updated one of their keyboards, the Isku, branding the new model Isku FX. We liked the original Isku model though we had some small changes which we would have liked to have seen in order to make the keyboard really stand out. So today we'll take a look at the Isku FX and see what changes have been made and whether ROCCAT have addressed any of the points we raised in our original review of the Isku.
Peripherals
Roccat have been making a name for themselves recently, releasing a series of award winning products for the gaming community. We reviewed the Kone XTD 8200 DPI mouse back in November and the Kone Pure in December. Today we are looking at their latest Isku FX Gaming keyboard with full backlighting system.
Peripherals
Although most recent games have been huge disappointments there is light at the end of the tunnel and so after the latest Tomb Raider, Warframe, Planetside 2, Crysis 3 and the expansion packs for The Elder Scrolls IV Skyrim (Dragonborn) and StarCraft 2 (Heart Of The Swarm) both EA and DICE have also joined the fun by releasing the quite impressive trailer of the upcoming Battlefield 4 FPS. On top of these latest and soon to be released game titles add the fact that the summer is not far away and the result is no other than consumers heading out to purchase both hardware parts to make their computers capable of supporting these games and of course gaming peripherals to help them have the best possible experience when playing. Now a keyboard may not be as important as the mouse when playing fast passed games (i think we can all agree to that) but that doesn't mean that a good keyboard can't help you win your battles. Today on our test bench we have the latest Isku FX illuminated gaming keyboard by ROCCAT which judging by its name and design it's an improved version of the original Isku.
Peripherals
Last year we took a look at ROCCAT’s ISKU Illuminated gaming keyboard and we really did like it, especially for the fact that was not a mechanical keyboard, but was still very comfortable and had many features that gamers would enjoy. While the original ISKU did have blue backlit keys many gamers wanted customization over the color of the backlighting. This is where the ISKU FX comes in, it adds customizable backlighting to the ISKU keyboard enabling you to change the color to any color you would like and it also adds in some cool lighting effects. Read on as we take a look.
Peripherals
On the test bench today is the ROCCAT Isku FX, a new version of the Isku that adds a 16.8 million color backlight system to the mix. While most new high-end keyboards offer mechanical switches, the Isku FX sticks to the traditional, cheaper membranes. Geared towards gamers, the Isku FX offers eight dedicated, programmable macro keys, Easy-Shift[+] to give the keys around the WASD zone a second functionality, and on-the-fly macro recording thanks to a dedicated record button.
Peripherals
We’ve got a colorful new Isku keyboard from ROCCAT. Called the Isku FX, it has all the same features as the original including up to 36 programmable keys, 6 profiles and ROCCAT’s Easy-Shift[+]. We’re also taking an in-depth look at ROCCAT Talk and Talk FX, ROCCAT’s hardware unity and lighting software that enhances the gaming experience when an Isku keyboard and a Kone mouse are brought together. Read on and see what we think!
Peripherals
At the time of writing, the Isku FX is ROCCAT’s range-topping keyboard. Appropriately it’s packed to the gills with features and capabilities lesser keyboards tend to eschew. No, it’s not a mechanical keyboard, but despite this is it still worth your hard-earned dollars? Read on and find out!
Peripherals
The new Roccat Isku is one of the most configurable keyboards we've ever tested. Thanks to the EasyShift[+] technology, already featured on the Kone[+] mouse we reviewed here, and to the number of extra keys, it is possible to program over 180 functions. The keyboard can store five user profiles, and it features six levels of illumination and a special synchronicity with the Kone[+] mouse. It has loads of options and special features, so first we're going to analyze the physical characteristics and then review its software and actual performance.
Peripherals
Today we are going to look at the Roccat Isku gaming keyboard which has a number of features that are sure to get gamers’ hearts racing. One of these is ‘Roccat Talk’ which lets you combine the Isku with a Kone[+] gaming mouse and share macro functions between the two. It also has all the usual features we would expect from a gaming keyboard like a selection of macro buttons, media buttons and backlit keys.
