Headsets are a very popular and nearly essential extra to the gaming industry as well as a very useful accessory for communications. For this reason we see a lot of new headsets coming to the market by the big gaming brands such as SteelSeries, Roccat and a few others. There is also a huge variety in headsets ranging from small discrete headsets that just do the simple job of combining a pair of headphones with a microphone or some splash out a bit and give you the full 5.1 surround sound experience, or at least try to.

There are an increasing number of XBox-compatible headsets these days, both official and unofficial, all pushing benefits like improved comfort, convenience and sound quality. Speedlink have decided to move in an alternative direction, providing a universal adapter which allows the use of existing PC headsets that utilise standard 3.5mm inputs.

There was a time in my game writing career that I thought I would never get the chance to play, let alone review, Duke Nukem Forever. When 3D Realms announced this game during the 1998 E3 Expo little did they know the saga that it would become. Frequently the number one on Wireds vapourware list, it had come to be well accepted the game would never see the light of day. However, thanks to Gearbox, that is not the case and it is here and whilst the game disappoints in many ways, in others it does not.

Remember back in the days as a child when you had best friends? One friend would always say, "You are my best friend... in the world." As time passed on, the relationship between these two individuals may grow closer or further apart; I don't know what your reasons are for such developments, but I can tell you that my passion for computer hardware and miscellaneous electronics has increased dramatically. This is also due to the fact having APH conference calls into the wee hours of the morning has given me a lot more insight into modern technology (Yes, we work very hard at APH Networks to write quality reviews for our readers). As the years go by, some things are not meant to be forgotten, especially items that hold valuable memory. In the world of computer hardware, there are many pieces of hardware where I can truthfully say, in a Jeremy Clarkson voice from Top Gear, "This is the best toy... in the world." What we have here today is a mouse. No, I am not talking about mice that run around and hide in holes in the wall. I am specifically referring to the Tt eSPORTS Black Element. Taking a brief glance at it, I already feel that this mouse is a very classy-looking piece of gaming hardware. However, remembering the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover", I was second guessing whether or not the Black Element is truly better than its younger brother, the Tt eSPORTS Black. After weeks of extensive testing, the results are in. Read on to see what I have found!

When we think of headphones, the phrase ‘You can’t polish a Turd’ immediately comes to mind. The headphone market is full of turds, products that have lost their primary function and have been designed purely so their airhead user looks good wearing them. This is happening more and more today, creating a very confusing marketplace. However, Radiopaq have created the ‘duo’, a pair of headphones being sold on their sound quality and comfort, priced at under £20, this makes a very tempting offering.

Until now, Razer haven’t had any mechanical keyboards in their lineup, however, with the release of the affordable Black Widow and Black Widow Ultimate, they are clearly trying to bring this technology to the mass market. Today we are going to look at the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, which boasts an impressive feature set which should
really enhance the overall experience.

For quite some time the gaming keyboard market has concentrated on products which add macro buttons, re-assignments, profiles, USB and audio pass-through and weighted key actions to enhance the gaming experience. In addition to this we see branded products such as the Razer StarCraft 2 gear and SteelSeries Medal of Honor products however few manufacturers have looked to release high quality mechanical keyboards for the gaming masses.
