The K90 Performance MMO Gaming Keyboard from Corsair is a solid product and comes with a combination of MX Red switches and silicone domes (the domes are only used for the less frequent used keys). Let me start by breaking this down a bit. As an avid FPS gamer, I can say there are a few things a mouse must have to work in this sort of gaming environment. After testing most of the products within the Vengeance brand from Corsair, we finally put our hands on the M90 mouse. So far, we've tested the combo mouse/keyboard for FPS games, the M60 and K60, and the K90 keyboard for RPGs and strategy games. The M90 mouse is a perfect match for the K90 keyboard. Featuring 15 programmable buttons, the peripheral reaches 5,700 dpi of resolution. The user can create six profiles stored in the internal memory and 50 profiles that can be saved in the PC. Not long ago it was easy to lean primarily on a traditional remote control – universal, of course -- relegating the keyboard and mouse to the audio & video (A/V) cabinet, closet, or other locale of last resort –dragging it out just for occasional maintenance or troubleshooting. I’m glad to see that mechanical keyboards are taking off with the gaming crowd. It used to be just me that was rocking a mechanical, then I slowly started getting my friends into it by selling them keyboards and inviting them to try out mine.

And I was, of course. Mechanicals make excellent sense for gamers looking for every bit of performance they can get, particularly if they’re playing competitively. They give you that slightest edge; they’re faster, more durable and they feel better than normal rubber dome keyboards.
The big difficulty is the price – where you can pick up a cheap dome keyboard for £3 and a gaming one for £20, a mechanical that costs £60 to £100 is a big step up.
