It’s a fairly common theme to see technology or trends that are supposedly outdated to come back in the modern era in some form or another. It shouldn’t be a surprise then that mechanical keyboards, which have largely been replaced by membrane keyboards, are resurfacing and gaining traction amongst die-hard enthusiasts and a new generation of both gamers and typists alike. I personally still remember when I had an old mechanical keyboard in my youth, mostly because the loud clacking of the keys is something very hard to forget. However, I can’t even put a date on when I made the switch to membrane keyboards. In fact, I have no idea how I didn’t realize that most keyboards were suddenly much quieter than what I was used to. Needless to say, mechanical keyboards became a long forgotten memory until very recently, when there was a sudden resurgence in their popularity. It then hit me just how much I missed the loud clicks and clacks, the keys with feedback you could actually feel. So when I was offered to review Thermaltake’s Poseidon Z Illuminated Keyboard, I will admit I got giddy.

A good portion of Logitech’s most recent product introductions have really just been refreshes of old products. The G602 wireless mouse was really the only fully new design to come from Logitech in a few years up until very recently. Not too long before I went on vacation Logitech introduced their newest mouse the G502 Proteus Core. Not only is the G502 a completely new product, but it is also the only Logitech Gaming product to also include a name beyond their standard G naming scheme. That must mean that the G502 is something special to them and they really wanted it to stand out. Today I am going to take a look at the G502 Proteus Core to see what it’s all about and find out if it is worth getting excited about, let’s dig in.

The Mionix NASH 20 Headset looks sharp, build quality is great, comfy to wear & they sound excellent. The 50mm neodymium DACT drivers are impressive and offer super mids & highs with a good bass punch. Also, the Uni-direction mic is great. This is a no-frills headset that delivers!

Turtle Beach is one of the biggest gaming brands around, having earned a great reputation for producing a wide range of headset products that cover a wide spectrum of budgets. Whilst I’ve seen and heard a lot of good things from their budget models, the really exciting stuff is obviously at the upper end of the budget scale. The latest addition to their range certainly falls into the premium bracket, with an RRP of £119.99 (and many retailers selling at around £140) they’re obviously not targeted at your average gamer.

It seems like pretty much everyone offers a mechanical gaming keyboard these days, and most of them feature Cherry MX mechanical switches. These of course come at a cost to the manufacturer, making mechanical keyboards more expensive. Well Tt eSPORTS wants to change all of that.
