When I first heard of the Radius Atomic Bass, the name seemed to have developed a sense of negative connotation for me. This mainly resides in the aspect of calling them 'Bass' by Radius, because the first thing that comes to my mind are those so-called 'audiophiles' that believes a piece of equipment is 'the shizz' when all they have is a 20-inch triple sub configuration and a pair of $10 generic computer speakers for everything else. To be honest, I was afraid that one of the major characteristics of Radius' Atomic Bass earphones would have a similar effect as aforementioned with your favorite digital audio player plugged in and the IEMs in question residing in my ears.

When we think of headphones, the phrase ‘You can’t polish a Turd’ immediately comes to mind. The headphone market is full of turds, products that have lost their primary function and have been designed purely so their airhead user looks good wearing them. This is happening more and more today, creating a very confusing marketplace. However, Radiopaq have created the ‘duo’, a pair of headphones being sold on their sound quality and comfort, priced at under £20, this makes a very tempting offering.
While a lot of people listen to music through speakers, there are some serious audiophiles that much prefer the headphone setup. One group famous for this are DJs and presumably it’s them and their fans that Radiopaq are aiming this headset at. The Duos are a first step in the over-ear headphones market for the company and they’re bringing fancy colour schemes and a “DJ” style. They feature hinged, swivel cups for positioning the headphones however you want along with a pretty competitive price tag. Let’s see how they hold up.
Although some people are willing to spend upward of £100 on a premium set of earphones, there are many more who cannot afford top-end audio hardware and will opt for a cheap and cheerful product instead. But the lower end of the market is filled with hundreds, possibly thousands of different earphones so choosing between them can often be difficult.
