Today we are going to review a PSU from NorthQ; 4775-850-FLEX (Black Magic) which is a 850W PSU with modular cable. The modular cables of NorthQ Black Magic are quite unique compare with other modular PSUs as Black Magic already comes with very good quality flat cables which does not require any additional cable sleeving.
I'm very impressed with Cooler Master's Silent Pro M600W. Here's a quiet, compact, high-quality PSU with flat modular cabling, high efficiency and a five-year warranty from an established company. Cooler Master also includes silicone vibration gaskets and black mounting screws.

Today we are reviewing the Thermaltake Toughpower XT 850W PSU. Thermaltake's Toughpower PSU's are alright in my books, so we'll have to see if their high powered version of the Toughpower line is up to scratch.
At around $200, the XT is at the very top of its class, both in features and cost. While the XT has great specs, a generous and innovative feature set and outstanding components and efficiency, 200 bones still seems a bit excessive for a 750W PSU these days. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent power supply and the five-tear warranty sweetens the deal a bit, but the high cost almost kept it off the Top Rank list.
We'll start with what Tuniq has done right. The Ripper 1000W is a good looking unit; clean finish, sleeved cables with matching heatshrink, connectors and fan grill. The unit comes with plenty of molex connectors and the cables have quite a bit of length in them. In terms of performance, the Ripper finds itself placed comfortably in the middle of the pack- while there are better units available, it outperforms plenty others. Still, all around good performance.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910 uses internally the same design as Seasonic M12D, thus being manufactured by Seasonic. This design is based on a DC-DC converter on the secondary, i.e. Silencer 910 is basically a +12 V power supply with two small power supplies in charging of converting the +12 V output into +5 V and +3,3 V. This is the same concept used on power supplies series like Signature and TruePower New from Antec, M12D from Seasonic, UCP from Cooler Master and HX (750 W and above) from Corsair. These other models proved to have an above-the-average efficiency. It is important to keep in mind that other models from PC Power & Cooling Silencer series use a different internal design.
