Today we are looking at a power supply from Cooler Master called the ‘Silent Pro Hybrid’. This is based around the Silent Pro Gold Model, but it features a high grade cooling fan with hydraulic bearings … this stops rotating completely when the loads are below 200W. Cooler Master have a 1300W, a 1050W and an 850W in the range and we are looking at the smallest, most affordable supply in the series.

The ST85F-G Evolution shares the same feature summary as the rest of the Evolution series. It has full of protection features including over temperature protection, but the unit is not rated for 100% continuous output at 50C. It is instead rated for 100% continuous output at 40C. The power supply is fully modular and fully sleeved. The full modular design also allows for the use of SilverStone's PP05 short cable kit.
Antares Pro comes in with the cheapest price of $168.99. Alternatively you can find the unit for $169.99 at Directron. Hardcore Newegg fans will find the unit a tad more expensive, costing $195.82 after shipping. At about $170, the ST85F-G Evolution is one of the cheapest 80Plus Gold rated 850W models available. SilverStone backs the unit by a three year warranty.

Kingwin makes sure you're taken care of with plenty of features in the LZP-1000. All your protections are present. The LZP-1000 has both native and modular cabling, all of which is fully sleeved. The LZP-1000 is also capable of delivering 100% continuous output at 50C.
Kingwin has an MSRP of $229 on the LZP-1000 1000W unit. We were able to find it cheapest at Newegg for $193.98 at the time of writing this article after shipping and a $20 MIR. That makes it at least $50 cheaper than any other 1000W Platinum unit on the market today. Kingwin backs the LZP-1000 with their customary five year warranty.

Features are pretty much the same as well. The unit still lacks the 50C rating as well as over temperature protection. As this unit has modular cables, Antec does manage to add another green check on the list and it will likely help the series appeal to a wider range of users.

Sitting at the top of OCZ's recently announced Champ1on Series of Fatal1ty PSUs is the 80Plus Gold Certified 1000w model with modular cables and very distinct styling. We have that very version on our test bench today and will find out if gamers should be putting it at the top of their shopping list for new system builds... after all we all need a new system with AMD and NVIDIA throwing out new GPUs almost weekly.

The Huntkey Win7 6600, also known as LW-6600HGB, is a 500 W power supply, so we can't understand where the "6600" in its name comes from. It has an active PFC circuit, but no 80 Plus certification, even though it presented efficiency above 80% on our tests. Let's check it out.
