Fractal Design is a Swedish company which started off as a computer case designer and manufacturer. Like most such companies, after they have established a foothold in their original segment of the market, they began diversifying into other segments as well. Naturally, Fractal Design began their diversification towards power supply units, releasing several products, which are today divided into three series based on their 80Plus certification; Integra (Bronze), Tesla (Gold) and Newton (Platinum). The power supply which we will be reviewing today is the Tesla R2 650W. As the name suggests, this is the second revision of the Tesla series.
Power Supply
The Fractal Design Tesla R2 is available in 500 W, 650 W, 800 W, and 1,000 W versions, all with the 80 Plus Gold certification. Let's take a look at the 650 W model, which comes with a very nice price tag.
Power Supply
Today we are looking at the Fractal Design Tesla R2 1000W, a high output power supply which achieves a very competitive price point in the United Kingdom, around £130 inc vat. While this unit isn’t modular, it does achieve 80 Plus Gold Certification and has a full 3 year warranty. Is it worth the modest outlay?

Fractal Design's Tesla R2 PSU series gives you a bit of bang for your buck, without skimping on performance. Today we look at the 1000W model.
Power Supply
Not that long ago we took a look at our first power supply from Fractal Design, the Newton R3 600W. While that unit sits as Fractal Design’s top tier power supply today we are checking out one of their more mainstream units the Telsa R2 650W power supply. While this power supply is not modular it still features an 80PLUS Gold certification, single 12V rail, and a temperature controlled 135mm cooling fan. The Tesla R2 still has the same great looks we saw on the Newton R3, but can it perform? Read on as we find out!
Power Supply
Fractal Design's Newton R3 series promises plenty in both looks and performance. Find out just how well it does with our review of the 800W model.
Power Supply
The Newton R3 is the new 80 Plus Platinum power supply series from Fractal Design, featuring a modular cabling system and a single +12 V rail. Lets see how the 800 W model fared on our tests.
Power Supply
We mainly know Fractal Design for their cases, but did you know they make power supplies as well? Over the past couple of years the really high-end power supplies all had 80PLUS Gold certifications, but now we are seeing 80PLUS Platinum certifications. 80PLUS Platinum certification means that the power supply runs 92% efficient at 50% load and 89% efficient at 100% load. Today we are taking a look at Fractal Design’s Newton R3 600W power supply that not only has the 80PLUS Platinum certification it features a semi-modular design, single 12V rail, semi-passive fan, and is CrossFireX certified. Is this this next power supply for your system? Read on as we take a look...
