Power Supply
The power supply is a part of your system you certainly don’t want to skimp on, a low quality PSU can malfunction and possibly cause damage to the rest of your fancy hardware, not good. With this in mind, today we’re previewing/unboxing a power supply from Seventeam. No review on this, I’m afraid, as we don’t have the required hardware to properly test the unit. We could blag it, but HardwareSecrets would never let us get away with it.

Cougar is a brand that belongs to HEC/Compucase, originally targeted to the European market. Recently, they started expanding to the North American market as well. The A-Series is comprised of models from 300 W to 760 W, all featuring the 80 Plus Bronze certification. Let's see how the 560 W model fared in our tests.

As almost every computer enthusiast has learned throughout the years, working exclusively with enthusiast level hardware is impossible. Most of the time it won't even be for yourself, but will be for friends and family asking you to come to their aid. Occasionally you will even come across a project of your own that simply requires something less substantial. When you start considering that you'll have to power something with lower requirements, Corsair's Builder series of power supplies comes into the picture.

Many readers might not have heard of Cougar, but they are a retail subset from parent company HEC, who also produce computer cases in Europe. They manufacture a full range of power supplies, including 600, 700, 800 and 900 Watt models, and today we are looking at their highest rated product, the GX 1050W.

Not only does the latest Aurum Gold CM line by the FSP Group offer the same impressive features like an 80Plus Gold certification, rock solid rails and small form factor as the normal Aurum Gold line but it also features flat, low profile modular cables for optimal airflow inside your case.

A few weeks ago we reviewed the Silverstone Strider Gold 1200W power supply and we were very impressed with the results. If you can’t quite stretch to the £200+ asking price, then today’s review product might just hit the spot. The SilverStone Strider Plus 1000W power supply costs around £100 less, but maintains a modular design with 80 Plus Silver Certification. Is it worth your money?

What is the first thing that comes to mind when I mention the words 'cake' and 'cheese'? Cheese that is melted on top of a cake? A cake made out of cheese? Or should I simply refer to it as a cheesecake? Recently, I have been reading Preston's Toughpower Grand 750W report, and thought to myself: What better way is there to start the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200W review, than to plagiarize a few lines from the my colleague's article introduction earlier in March this year? Now obviously plagiarism and cheesecakes have nothing to do with a power supply we are reviewing today -- but before you click the little 'X' next to your browser's tab, let me ask you this question first before moving on further in this review: Would you buy an ugly looking cheesecake to munch down on, or an ugly plagiarized cake (Oh yes, cakes can be plagiarized) for that special someone? Probably not, and I believe nine out of ten people would agree also. In the world of computers, PC enthusiasts will go pretty far in obtaining hardware to make their system look pretty, and I have to admit that I am one of them. Not too long ago, I was checking my email, and it so happens Thermaltake dropped by with a note asking if I wanted to check out the Toughpower Grand 1200W. At first glance, it still has a simple, yet unique strip of red on a dark matte body with rounded corners; this no different than any other models in this product line. Knowing how awesome the 750W is with regards to its top notch build quality and simply class leading performance, without further thought, I told myself this is really the one to get if I desired awesomeness. But what and how much has changed under the hood in this kilowatt-plus monster? Keep reading to see what we have found!
