These new PSU’s aren’t meant for hardcore builders, but rather the everyday Joe, looking for a cheap, reliable PSU that he can install and forget about for several years. All of the PSU’s are 80PLUS efficient, include lengthy enough cables, and can support the latest hardware. Read on further to see our review of the 430W and 730W SMART Series power supplies.
The Smart Series is a new entry-level power supply series from Thermaltake, with the standard 80 Plus certification. Coming to replace the old Purepower and TR2 "standard" series, this new series features 430 W, 530 W, 630 W, and 730 W models, all with the standard 80 Plus certification. We've already tested the 630 W model, which proved to have a terrific price/performance ratio. Let's see if the 730 W model follows in the same footsteps.
Two years ago, we reviewed the Huntkey Jumper 550, which exceeded our expectations. Now it is time to review the Jumper 600B, which comes with the 80 Plus Bronze certification. (Hence the letter "B" after the product wattage; it is important to understand that the 500 W and 550 W models from this family have the standard 80 Plus certification.) The new High Current Gamer M is a version of Antec's High Current Gamer power supply series with a modular cabling system. So far, only three models are available: 400 W, 520 W, and 620 W. The original High Current Gamer series also has a 750 W and a 900 W model. All models have the 80 Plus Bronze certification and single +12 V rail design. Enermax has an MSRP of $239 on the Revolution87+ 1000W unit. This puts it at the high-end of the 1000W 80Plus Gold rated market. Unfortunately we have nothing else to say about the price of the unit as it doesn't appear to have hit the market at the time of writing this article.

The 80 Plus Platinum certification is the next level in energy efficiency, promising 92% minimum efficiency at typical load (i.e., at half of the power supply's labeled power). The Enermax Platimax was one of the first power supply series carrying this new certification level to reach the market, with 600 W, 750 W, 850 W, 1,000 W, and 1,200 W versions. We've already tested the 600 W model, which proved to be an excellent product. Let's see if the 850 W version is a good choice.
