Today we will have a look at their latest and most powerful Silencer series unit, boasting a continuous output of 910W at 50°C. PC Power & Cooling markets the Silencer 910W as a mainstream product and sells it at a highly competitive price. We are going to thoroughly test the unit and see if it can also take on the competition in terms of performance.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910 uses internally the same design as Seasonic M12D, thus being manufactured by Seasonic. This design is based on a DC-DC converter on the secondary, i.e. Silencer 910 is basically a +12 V power supply with two small power supplies in charging of converting the +12 V output into +5 V and +3,3 V. This is the same concept used on power supplies series like Signature and TruePower New from Antec, M12D from Seasonic, UCP from Cooler Master and HX (750 W and above) from Corsair. These other models proved to have an above-the-average efficiency. It is important to keep in mind that other models from PC Power & Cooling Silencer series use a different internal design. Let's see how the performance from PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910 is.

Any PC enthusiast is quite familiar with the name PC Power & Cooling. Ever since the company's inception in 1985, the name has been synonymous with quiet computing and shortly thereafter high-quality power supplies. Since then, the company has been a leader in the PSU industry producing many firsts such as the first redundant power system, first NVIDIA certified SLI PSU, 1000W PSU, and first power supply to ship with its own certified test report. They are clearly a company dedicated to providing the best product available to their customers.

PC Power & Cooling has always been known for their high quality power supplies, but there have been a small number of changes since OCZ acquired them in 2007. Now PCP&C seems to be getting back to basics with the new Silencer models. Gone is the large 135mm overhead fan and back is the 80mm rear mounted format they used in the pre-OCZ years. Of course there are no modular cables here, everything is hard wired as they have always done. And just like most of the Silencer MkII line, the Silencer 760 boasts an 80Plus Silver certification.

The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 760 W is a relabeled Seasonic S12D 750 W unit, but with a rear 80 mm fan instead of using 120 mm model and a single +12 V rail instead of two +12 V rails. Its highlights include the use of a DC-DC design, 80 Plus Silver certification, and 836 W peak wattage. Let's check it out.

Less than two months ago I had the opportunity to check out the Strato 5.1 Surround Sound Headphones from Ozone Gaming. If you happened to read that review, you already know that the Strato performed pretty well in every aspect except perhaps the most important: comfort. The Strato headphones use on-ear ear cups which put pressure on the pinna (outer ear) that causes discomfort even after moderate use. After our review, Ozone agreed to send over a different gaming headset for evaluation, the Ozone Oxid. The Oxid are a bit different than the Strato in multiple categories but perhaps the most important is the ear cup design as these use over-the-ear cups. If the Oxid is indeed more comfortable than the Strato and scores high in some of the same areas the Strato did, this could prove to be a quality headset. Read on as we put them to the test.

The OCZ ZX850W power supply is another excellent component from a top notch manufacturer whom is no stranger to the enthusiast PC market. The importance of power supply choice is often a low priority or completely overlooked by many builders. Lucky for us today's item up on the review block is an excellent specimen of power supply engineering, the ZX Series 850W ATX v2.2 power supply unit.

Like many other manufacturers at CES 2011, OCZ had a collection of their most recent hardware on display, including solid state drives, memory and power supplies. It's one of the latter that we have for review today, the ZX Series 850W. The ZX replaces the Z Series as OCZ's Maximum Performance line of power supplies, and is available in 850W, 1000W and 1250W capacities. These models all feature 80Plus Gold efficiency levels, multi-GPU support and OCZ's exclusive five year PowerSwap Warranty.
