Xigmatek continues to refresh their power supply units. Today we're looking at the new Tauro 700 watt unit before it hits retail.

The gaming peripheral market is rife with interesting innovations, some more of a gimmick than useful but still very nice to look at. Today, Benchmark Reviews brings you the Thermaltake Challenger Pro Gaming Keyboard P/N KB-CHP001US. The Challenger Pro has some interesting features worthy of notice but also has a few gimmicks to spruce it up a bit and attract more attention. The LED backlights not only light up the keys but they also light between the keys for a nice effect, the WASD and arrow keys have red replacements and there are also two blanking keys to replace the windows keys, should you choose to use them. There are two USB 2.0 ports in the back to facilitate extra devices and there are also two special points at the top of the keyboard to mount a small hand cooling fan. There are six media keys present and 64KB of onboard memory allows you to store up to 40 macro functions via four profiles on ten macro buttons. Antec recently introduced a new range of High Current Pro series power supplies, including 750W, 850W, 1000W and 1200W models. All of these models have 80 Plus Gold Certification and are rated to 92% efficiency using the highest quality Japanese brand capacitors.
With many people already having purchased one of the latest GTX Titan graphics cards by NVIDIA (it was sold out after all) it really makes sense for us to focus on reviews about powerful and quite expensive 80Plus Platinum certified power supply units that can successfully feed that monster of a card with sufficient, clean and stable power (and we have). However since most people out there seem opt for either an GTX 660 or for one of the Radeon HD 7850 cards instead we also need to cater to their needs and so today we decided to bring you a review of one of the latest PSUs to hit the market, the reasonably priced 550W 80Plus Bronze Certified PowerX by Cougar.
The Thermaltake SP-850M power supply uses a high-efficiency circuit design rated 80 Plus bronze. The Thermaltake Smart M series 850W power supply has a powerful 70A on a single +12V rail and has four 6+2-pin PCIE connectors for multi-GPU Crossfire or SLI setups. Inside the SP-850M are high-quality Japanese and solid-state components which are kept cool with a 140mm fan while in operation. The Smart M 850W power supply’s modular cables utilize an easily-manageable slim design so chassis airflow is not obstructed. Aside from the 5-year warranty, a suite of industrial-grade protection including over-current, over-voltage, under-current, over-power and short-circuit protection offer comfort that the SP-850M will perform up to user expectations.
The NAXN, the latest power supply series from Enermax, is subdivided into three sub-series: the NAXN, also known as Tomahawk II, featuring 350 W, 450 W, and 500 W models, with no 80 Plus certification; the NAXN 80+, featuring 350 W, 450 W, 500 W, and 600 W models, with the standard 80 Plus certification; and the NAXN 82+, featuring 750 W and 850 W models, with the 80 Plus Bronze certification and modular cabling system (a feature not available on the models from the other two sub-series.) Let's see if the new Enermax NAXN 80+ 600 W is a good option.
The technology industry has been very competitive now for a number of years, often forcing companies to diversify their range. Corsair, highly respected for their memory products expanded into other sectors, such as high end cooling, speakers and USB peripherals. Also, they have experienced great success in the power supply sector and today we are looking at their latest TX750M – a modular power supply with 80 Plus Bronze Certification.
Sentey may be a new name, but they’re one I’m definitely hoping will stick around. We’re getting a bit too comfortable here in the world of power supplies. We see many of the same names over and over again and were Sentey to keep pushing out units like the Golden Steel Power, I feel they’d help make things interesting, at least for a while. I for one am convinced and sold on the Golden Steel Power 1000W.
