Today, Corsair is releasing two new models within its AX "i" power supply series, the AX760i and the AX860i. These power supplies and the AX1200i have an internal digital signal processor, which allows never before seen voltage regulation and noise and ripple levels. In addition, you can monitor all of the parameters of the power supply on your computer through a USB-based connection called Corsair Link. Let's take an in-depth look at the AX760i, which also comes with a fully modular cabling system and the 80 Plus Platinum certification.
Bereits vor mehreren Jahren konnten wir die Netzteile der AX-Serie von Corsair genauer unter die Lupe nehmen. Nun gibt es eine Weiterentwicklung der beliebten Stromspender. Selbigen wurde im Gegensatz zur reinen AX-Version ohne das Zusatzkürzel "i", nicht nur ein neues technisches Layout spendiert, sondern auch eine eigene Monitoring-Software, mit der sich die drei AXi-Modelle überwachen und sogar optimieren lassen. Auch bei der 80-Plus-Zertifizierung hat Corsair nochmals nachgelegt und kann nun eine Platinum-Plakette vorweisen. Was die drei innovativen Vertreter in Form des AX760i, AX860i und AX1200i bieten, klären wir in diesem Kurztest.
Wir sehen uns das AX850 von Corsair näher an und klären, ob unsere hohen Erwartungen dank 80Plus-Gold-Zertifikat und Seasonic-Qualität erfüllt werden können. Mit der in weiten Teilen identischen Basis zum Seasonic X-400 FL geht das Netzteil mit Vorschusslorbeeren ins Rennen, die es an unserer Chroma-Teststation unter Beweis stellen muss.
Der Gold-Express hat Fahrt aufgenommen, das Angebot an 80+ Gold zertifizierten Netzteilen nimmt schon fast inflationären Charakter an und so listet im Grunde jeder namhafte Hersteller mittlerweile ein entsprechendes Produkt. Das diese Zertifizierung als solche nicht sehr viel über die tatsächliche Qualität eines Netzteils aussagt, haben wir schon häufiger unterstrichen. Um so interessanter ist es natürlich, wie die Hersteller denn die angestrebten Effizienz Werte erreichen konnten und ob die restliche Technik mit diesem Effizienz-Focus korrespondiert. Denn eines sei deutlich gesagt, es existieren nicht wenige Exemplare auf dem Markt, wo eine 90% Effizienz nur unter Zuhilfenahme von Einsparmaßnahmen in anderen Bereichen ermöglicht wird. Das hat im Umkehrschluß meistens zur Folge, das dann andere wesentlich wichtiger Faktoren technisch vernachlässigt werden, wie z.B. Störimmunität, Restwelligkeit oder die Spannungsstabilität be hohen Lasten.
Nachdem wir erst vor einigen Tagen das 80+ Gold zertifizierte Netzteil Corsair AX1200 getestet haben, folgt nun aus der gleichen Serie das AX850. Dieser ebenfalls 80+ Gold zertifizierte Kraftspender bildet die Mitte der verfügbaren Ausgangsleistungen, eine Variante mit einer Ausgangsleistung von 750W rundet diese Serie ab.

The new Corsair AX power supply series have 80 Plus Gold certification, full modular cabling system, and single +12 V rail, being based on Seasonic's X Series. Seasonic offers 400 W (fanless), 460 W (fanless), 650 W, and 750 W models in their X series, while Corsair offers 750 W, 850 W, and 1,200 W models. We've already tested the Fanless 400 W and 650 W models from Seasonic, and they proved to be outstanding products. Let's see if the Corsair AX850W achieves the same outstanding performance.
orsair's AX860 might lack the digital capabilities of its AXi series companion, but it still puts out some awesome numbers.
