Antec is arguably the most well-known name in the computer power supply industry and rightfully so. They've been around since 1986 and have provided quality power supplies, cases, cooling products and more that fit the need of just about any type of build for both businesses and consumers. Over the last few years we've seen a large refresh in many of Antec's product lines, especially their power supplies. Today we are taking a look at the Antec High Current Pro 1200W power supply, the highest output PSU offered in the new HCP series.

True enthusiasts know that their selection of power supplies is limited. High output units that deliver well over 1000W of power just don't have the demand that the 700-850W units do and as such, we don't see a new, full blown enthusiast grade power supply hit the market that often. Today, however, is one of those glorious days where we get to put something to the test for those that demand large amounts of high quality power and won't settle for anything less. We've got Enermax's new MaxRevo 1350W power supply on the bench and it promises to be just what any enthusiast needs.

Corsair have been active lately, not only have they recently unleashed a new range of liquid coolers, but they have introduced two completely new power supply families. We have already reviewed the AX760i and AX860i ‘digital’ supplies, a formidable design in collaboration with Flextronics. Today we are analysing the latest AX760 and AX860 units, both Platinum certified modular units at a more affordable price point. Are they worthy of a purchase?

The Logisys PS350MA, targeted to small form factor (SFF) computers, measures only 4.9 x 2.5 x 3.9 inches (125 x 63.5 x 100 mm) (W x H x D). This unit raises several red flags as being a really bad product. First, it uses the SFX12V form factor, but the manufacturer is not aware of that, calling it a "Micro ATX" power supply. Second, it is sold as being a 350 W unit; however, the power supply label says that 350 W is the peak wattage, and the "average output" is 250 W. And, third, the label and product specification found online says the product only works at 220 V/50 Hz, but the unit clearly has a 110 V/220 V switch. Let's see if our suspicions hold true or if this unit will surprise us.

KitGuru loved the Corsair AX series of power supplies, their class leading efficiency and attention to detail earned them our highest awards. Today we are looking at an update to their more affordable TX series. The TX V2 range is designed for enthusiasts who need a high quality power supply but who don’t need modular cables that can be disconnected from the main unit.

Cougar is a company that few have heard of, even in Europe, a very small number would have them in their ‘recommended power supply manufacturer list’ which they would either consider for their own rigs or recommend to others. However, those who do recommend Cougar PSUs are the ones who have used them- and for very good reason! Cougar is actually a subsidiary of Compucase and handle all the power supply R&D work. They have gained a strong reputation for quality among the small but growing market they market to. I can foresee large orders of Cougar units hitting major UK retailers and the shores of the USA in the near future!
