The Aurum Xilenser is the latest power supply series from FSP, using a fanless design and featuring the 80 Plus Gold certification. Lets see how the 500 W model with fixed cabling fared in our tests.
Power Supply
Every computer needs a power supply to run, which just goes without saying. But a power
supply is not just a power supply. There are many factors that come into play, such as
12 volt rails, available amps, modular / non-modular, 80 Plus certification. If you have
not already guessed it, today we look at a power supply from Silverstone. The name is
STRIDER Plus, and it offers a very compact and 100% modular design. It is becoming more
and more popular to build small, powerful computers and that needs plenty of power,
which the SilverStone STRIDER Plus 600 Watt is capable of.

The Strider Gold 750W does have a quite a bit of good points going for it and a few excellent ones, namely: efficiency and some pretty decent line regulation on the 12V rail (which reasonably, we care quite a bit more for than the 5V rail). The unit is also built extraordinarily well, inside and out. Still, while we can hardly discount the fact that the Strider Gold 750W is priced just a wee bit higher than it should, that decision is for the individual and despite priced a tad higher than other units, the Strider Gold is still a solid power supply.

Cooler Master released their GX II line recently, priced at $69.99. The 650W GX II by Cooler Master is a nonmodular PSU that is 80+ bronze rated. This is the second generation of the Game Xtreme PSU family. There are a few changes to the updated power supplies, but for the most part the PSUs remain the same.

Enermax are well known in enthusiast circles and over the years they have expanded their portfolio to include power supplies, fans, coolers and computer cases. Today we are looking at their new ultra high end Platimax 1200W power supply which is 80 Plus Platinum Certified.
Power Supply
Ultra's latest PSU series, the X4, consists of no less that 7 units with an output ranging from a meager 500W up to a mind blowing 1600W. The X4 series is the successor to the very successful X3 series which has been Ultra's flagship range of products for several years."
