Power Supply
You need to pay close attention because Seventeam has two power supply series with practically the same name but using different projects: PAF and P-AF. PAF series has models with 450 W, 520 W, 580 W and 620 W capacities, while P-AF series has models with 550 W, 650 W, 750 W and 850 W capacities. As you can see these two series don't have models with the same capacity, so it is easy to see if a particular model is from the PAF or from the P-AF series. Seventeam, however, will be launching soon a 650 W model within the P-AF series, which may create some confusion. Today we reviewed the currently most powerful model on the PAF series, ST-620PAF. Can it really deliver 620 W? Let's see.

The power supply is a part of your system you certainly don’t want to skimp on, a low quality PSU can malfunction and possibly cause damage to the rest of your fancy hardware, not good. With this in mind, today we’re previewing/unboxing a power supply from Seventeam. No review on this, I’m afraid, as we don’t have the required hardware to properly test the unit. We could blag it, but HardwareSecrets would never let us get away with it.

ST-550P-AM is a 550 W power supply from Seventeam where you can manually control the fan speed and can even disable it. Let's see if this unit can really deliver 550 W.

Ever since multi-rail PSUs were introduced, we’ve seen enthusiasts adamantly claim that one or the other PSU type is better. Some claim single rail is better for overclocking. Some claim multi-rail is safer. Single rail is cleaner. Multi-rail more efficient. The list goes on and on, so who’s right? People on either side argue their points and pick up uninformed followers along the way, resulting in the same rehashed marketing over and over again from companies playing on this vehement fanboyism: A single strong 12v rail! Multi-rail for extra stability! Blah blah. Which is better? How does this apply to me? Keep reading, and I may just give you an answer.

The Sentey Solid Power SS series of power supplies has 550 W, 650 W, 750 W, and 850 W models, all with the standard 80 Plus certification. Today we are going to dissect the 850 W model (SDP850-SS), which uses a resonant configuration in its primary and DC-DC and synchronous designs in its secondary, features that are usually only seen on high-efficiency power supplies with at least the 80 Plus Bronze certification. Let's see if we were surprised by this product.

Sentey's new Platinum rated power supply performs great but, has other issues that need to be addressed.

I have gotten to know Sentey through their case division over the past few months. In that time I have looked at the Optimus and the Arvina mid-tower offerings. Today we have their 80 Plus Gold 850 watt power supply on hand for evaluation. This will be the first power supply I have looked at from them, so it will be interesting to see how they handle something besides a case.

What we have on the bench today is a power supply from a company that most of you have probably never heard of. Sentey is a company whose headquarters resides in Florida with an operations center in California and manufacturing in China. The company is also expanding distribution centers in Latin America and is poised to make quite a name for itself. Currently the company offers a wide selection of computer cases, coolers, video cards and power supplies.
