Seasonic have released a brand new line-up of units, dubbed the X-Series. Boasting even higher performance than the M12D series, a full modular design and an 80Plus Gold certification, these might be the best performing power supply units money can currently buy. With this is mind we look at the 650w unit in their new range today.
Seasonic really need no introduction, they have been releasing multiple series of class leading power supplies in 2012. They recently launched the latest X-Series KM3 range, superseding the award winning KM2 units which we reviewed last year. Today we are looking at the X-Series KM3 650W power supply, a very popular wattage capacity with the enthusiast audience.
Over the last couple of months we have looked at the excellent X-Series 850W and 1250W power supplies – they both earned our highest awards. Today we look at the more affordable 660W version, a modular design which has achieved 80 Plus Gold Certification. This range of power supplies has proven popular with the enthusiast audience as they are a ‘no-compromise’ design incorporating high grade Japanese capacitors and class leading standards of build quality.
The Seasonic X-Series brings the 80 Plus Gold certification and a full modular cabling system. It was the first power supply series where the DC-DC converter was installed on the same printed circuit board as the modular cabling system.
