Als die Redaktion im August 2009 das Netzteil Cougar S700 testete, konnte sich das Testergebnis sehen lassen. Heute steht von der Firma Cougar das Kraftpaket SE 400 mit einer Ausgangsleistung von 400W auf dem Prüfstand. Innerhalb der SE Serie gibt es außerdem Modelle mit Ausgangsleistungen von 460 und 560W.
Die Firma Cougar bringt die beiden neuen Netzteile S550 und S700 auf den Markt. Beide Netzteile verfügen über Kabelmanagement und eine 80+ Silber Zertifizierung. Die Redaktion hat sich heute mit dem S700 ausführlich beschäftigt.
Knapp drei Monate ist es her, dass wir eine erste Vorstellung der Marke Cougar mit zwei neuen Netzteilen präsentiert haben. Bis auf kleinere Mängel kann man die Cougar Power und Cougar CM als nach wie vor qualitativ angemessene und optisch ungewöhnliche Netzteile bezeichnen. Doch Cougar möchte sich nicht auf seinen Lorbeeren ausruhen und legt kräftig nach. Die brandneue S-Power Serie, die wir als erste Redaktion der Welt testen dürfen, soll den Mittelklassebereich mit dem 80Plus Silver Zertifikat erobern. Wir haben das 550W (S-550) Modell ausführlich unter die Lupe genommen und offerieren euch nun unsere ersten Eindrücke.
In unseren letzten Netzteil-Test hatten wir uns vermehrt mit Kandidaten beschäftigt, welche eine Leistung von 650 Watt besitzen. Dass für einen Spiele-Rechner mit einer Grafikkarte auch durchaus kleinere Netzteile ausreichen, wurde in den letzten Tests ebenfalls schon gezeigt. In unserem heutigen Review schauen wir uns das brandneue S550 von Cougar an. Das neu gegründete Label gehört zu einem der größten Hersteller von Netzteilen und Gehäusen für den OEM-Markt, den es weltweit gibt. Und so versucht HEC Compucase durch die neue Marke auch den Endkundenmarkt direkt mit hochwertiger Hardware zu versorgen. Ob dies gelingt, klären wir auf den folgenden Seiten.

Die neue Serie besteht derzeit aus zwei Modellen mit 700 und 550 Watt Leistung. Wir haben uns letzteres Modell angesehen und prüfen ob Cougar auch mit der neuen Serie überzeugen kann.

Cougar is a brand that belongs to HEC/Compucase, originally targeted to the European market. Recently, they started expanding to the North American market as well. The RS series is comprised of models from 300 W to 650 W. Let's see how the 650 W model fared in our tests.
Today we take a look at the Cougar PowerX 550W power supply. Never heard of Cougar? well they are a retail subset of parent company HEC. The PowerX 550W is a 80 Plus Bronze certified, compact, non modular design built into a brightly coloured chassis.
