In this review PCSTATS is testing out an entirely fanless, silent 460W power supply from Seasonic's modular "X" series. There aren't very many fanless power supplies on the market so this is a bit of a treat. If you're planning on building 100% silent computer system the Seasonic X-460 Fanless is certainly tempting; it features a 460 Watt power level, modular cable system, matt black fingerprint resistant steel case, good EMI shielding and is able to sustain a peak load of 38A on the +12V rail.

One of the things we pride ourselves on here at XSReviews is that we'll review pretty much anything. Now some would say this makes us product whores, not so; we simply like to get a wide variety of products on the site. However, this does mean that we end up with some rather interesting items to review; like today.

The gaming peripheral market is rife with interesting innovations, some more of a gimmick than useful but still very nice to look at. Today, Benchmark Reviews brings you the Thermaltake Challenger Pro Gaming Keyboard P/N KB-CHP001US. The Challenger Pro has some interesting features worthy of notice but also has a few gimmicks to spruce it up a bit and attract more attention. The LED backlights not only light up the keys but they also light between the keys for a nice effect, the WASD and arrow keys have red replacements and there are also two blanking keys to replace the windows keys, should you choose to use them. There are two USB 2.0 ports in the back to facilitate extra devices and there are also two special points at the top of the keyboard to mount a small hand cooling fan. There are six media keys present and 64KB of onboard memory allows you to store up to 40 macro functions via four profiles on ten macro buttons. If this is the sort of ! keyboard that appeals to you then read on to find out more.

Zalman quickly made a name for themselves in the quiet PC sector years ago and have been somewhat of a pioneer in quiet and efficient cooling. Shortly after grabbing a firm hold of the heatsink and fan market, Zalman went on to produce quiet power supplies and have been quite successful in doing so. Those who seek a quiet yet high powered PC will be interested in the unit on the test bench today, as it offers lots of power with little noise.

Last month we reviewed Antec’s new 80 Plus Gold Certified ‘High Current Pro 850W‘ power supply, and we were impressed. Today we are looking at the 900W model in their ‘High Current Gamer’ range. As this series is 80 Plus Bronze Certified, it is a little more affordable, with the 900w unit retailing for only £100 inc vat.

Okay, here we go: Last in-house article of the year. Just when you thought you just got used to writing '2010', it is time to update our brain calendar and practice writing '2011' starting... well, tomorrow. For those who were dreaming of a white Christmas and didn't get any (Which is really not the case for me, because we get that a little too often here in Canada -- of course, other than the igloos we live in, and polar bears we ride on a daily basis), in yours truly's personal opinion, the next best thing is a white power supply. Yeah yeah, call out for a lame introduction. But the point is, NZXT's HALE90 is really one of a kind. When I loaded up the company's website a short while ago, the moment I saw the NZXT HALE90's photo on their front page, I knew I just had to get my hands on this for my next main computer refresh. Since 2006, I have used a variety of Seasonic power supplies exclusively for my primary system, mainly because of their excellent performance, impeccable reliability, near silent operation, and top notch efficiency. And all four attributes are just as important as the next. This is where the NZXT HALE90 comes into the picture. Other than receiving excellent reviews from reputable websites that demonstrates this product's high load performance, 80 Plus Gold certification, large 140mm fan (Without actually using it, my best guess is that it would be acoustically silent, in which we will cover later in this report), the company adds one more thing to push everyone else aside: Looks. Unlike traditional matte black power supply units, this one has a sleek white painted exterior. But what makes NZXT's HALE90 so great beyond the surface? We cracked open a 750W example open to take a look at the hardware under the hood.

We all know, the computer industry isn’t one to wait and loves nothing more than to push out the newer, shinier latest and greatest. Still however, although aged, the Toughpower and Toughpower XT lines are still relevant today as ever.
