Our quick look at the Intel Xeon 5500 series was a very impressive one. The Intel Xeon X5570 that we looked at today operates at 2.93GHz during normal operation, but when Turbo Boost Technology is enabled the operating frequencies increased up to 3.33GHz. With this much clock frequency and all the performance features that the Intel Xeon 5500 series has to offer you end up with a server processor that blows past the competition without looking back

There has been a steady stream of processor releases from AMD in recent times. Whether it is revisions of triple and quad core models or the addition of DDR3 parts to the product line there has always been something new to look at regularly. Two weeks ago we took a look at the latest high end Phenom 2, the 955 (Read The Review) and now AMD have another release for us to cover. The Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition.
In addition to this the past week has also seen the release of the Radeon 4770, AMD’s first card to use a 40nm GPU and we have two of these models on our test bench.

If you live in North America, you may remember the recent Gatorade commercial "What's G?". Well, that seems like the perfect phrase for what we're going to be taking a look at today; none other than the Thermaltake's newest gaming chassis, the Element G. The newly released Element G is one of three cases as a part of Thermaltake's Element Series.

Two processor cores are the reasonable minimum for most desktops today. Most processors we are going to review today fall into the magical price range of "up to $200" and can be used in a $500 PC performing much better than a relatively inexpensive notebook (or a four-year-old top PC). So, this choice is justified, when you have a strictly limited budget or just don't want to spend too much money.

In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the newly re-vamped AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE desktop processor. For all intent and purpose, the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition processor has not changed. The model number is now HDZ965FBK4DGM, and the total TDP is down from 140W to 125W. The X4 965 CPU still honors the AM3 socket, and uses a 45nm process to construct the 258mm2 die. GlobalFoundries FAB1 has added C1E implementation on the hardware level, and DDR3 is now supported at 1333MHz for 'Heavy' loads. Ultimately though, the 3.4GHz is still the same overclocking beast it always has been, and performance is relatively unchanged.

The clock keeps ticking at Intel. The dawn of the new year brings with it Intel's move to 32nm Westmere. Westmere represents the "tock" part of their product design and Intel has another successful, lower priced variant of Nehalem. Read on to find out if it's time for you to look at upgrading your old computer.

AMD seeks to shift that tide with the introduction of the energy efficient AMD Phenom II X4 910e processor for socket AM3. This 2.6GHz quad core chip has as all the Phenom II features that you expect: 2.6GHz quad-core design based on the "Deneb" microarchitecture, 6MB of shared L3 cache and 512KB of L2 cache per core, and a 4GHz HyperTransport 3.0 processor-to-system bus.
