Our review from Core i5-661 (3.33 GHz), one of the first processors with an integrated graphics processor to arrive on the market, and an overview of the new 32-nm CPUs Intel will be launching this week.

It's official now, on June 4 Intel launches the fourth generation Core processors. Haswell will likely come into its own with Ultrabooks and tablets. The new processors will enable them to become thinner, faster and more efficient, and Intel's prototype Haswell Ultrabook shows there's a lot of potential here.

Mit dem Core i7-4960X unterzieht Intel den Sechs-Kern-Prozessor für den Desktop-Markt einer Frischzellenkur. Was „Ivy Bridge-E“ leistet, klärt unser Test.

Although AMD has had some exciting new mid- and entry-level chips come to market in the last several months, their top of the line Phenom II series has not seen much action since the beginning of the year. But since we won't see AMD's new six-core desktop Thuban processor emerge until next year, what we have to feed off of in the meantime is a new Phenom II core revision, the C3. Beginning with the highest-clocked chip, the 965 BE, the new core will begin to filter down through the rest of the lineup through next year. Enhancements to the core are expected to lower voltage requirements and thus reduce operating temperature, which can potentially lead to better, more stable overclocks. Is it worth the upgrade expense for a current Phenom II owner to make the change to the new revision though? Join me as I aim to find out!

Intel Core i7-3970X Zum Jahresende holt Intel noch einmal die Brechstange heraus und zeigt mit dem Core i7-3970X, wo der Hammer hängt. Was das neue Desktop-Flaggschiff leistet, klärt unser Test.

The AMD Phenom II X6 product line is getting a new member of the family today. This isn't just any member of the family, it was bred to be the head of the household. The new AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black edition processor is the new flagship CPU from AMD and runs at a native 3.3GHz and has a turbo that cooks along at 3.8GHz. If you are as curious as I was to see how the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition processor will perform, read on!

Intels zaghafte Attacke auf AMDs Desktop-APUs mit „Haswell“ hat sich in Spielen bereits an „Trinity“ die Zähne ausgebissen. AMD legt mit „Richland“ jetzt noch eine Schippe nach.

As we can see, Athlon II X2 250 can still compete with the E6300. So the rollout of new triple-core processors has consolidated AMD's positions in the market segment of below $100. But apparently this was not the only goal. Note the nearly identical results demonstrated by Athlon II X3 435 and Phenom II X3 710, the latter being more costly to manufacture.

Back in April, Benchmark Reviews covered the release of AMD's flagship quad-core processor, the Phenom II X4 955 BE. Nearly four months later, we have that opportunity once again. Today, we look at the new king of the mountain over at the AMD, the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition processor model HDZ965FBGIBOX. Coming in at 3.4GHz, it not only bests the previous flagship model by 200Mhz, but also happens to be the highest clocked CPU on the market. In today's review, we find out how well that extra clockspeed translates to performance.
