Conclusion

General   + -
With the NH-C14, Noctua presents a very powerful and very well manufactured aircooler which also comes with very decent looks. The reason that the Austrians equipped this cooler with a lot of accessories as well as two of their own very high quality 140 millimeter fans even legitimates the price of CHF 91.- (est. EUR 71.-).   - Performance
- Manufacturing quality - Two fans included

Installation   + -
Reflecting the mounting process, Noctua has - once again - been able to convince us. The fact that there are two separate mounting kits one for Intel and another for AMD systems makes the cooler compatible to all recent platforms. Furthermore the installation can be done very easily which for example means that you wont need force as with other coolers to tighten it to the socket.   - Perfect fit - Compatible to Intel- and AMD-sockets

Performance   + -

If you drive our two Noctua fans at twelve volts they are subjectively slient. As we drove the fans at seven Volts, with 800 rotations per minute, they were almost noiseless but there also was a decrease in cooling capacity. Never the less there still is more than enough potential that even todays high-end CPUs can be cooled perfectly even at low rotation speeds. Furthermore one should also be aware that a down draft design comes with the advantage that the onboards components are being actively cooled too. This means that the your boards power design will operate at lower temperatures.

  - Cooling capacity - Very silent

Recommendation   + -

According to its price this cooler mainly targets enthusiasts as well as overclockers. Never the less we recommend this product to a wider group of buyers. The reason that there are a lot of accessories as well as the fact as it comes with two high quality fans makes the pricing very competitive.
