Conclusion

With the Elements Western Digital shows an external drive that scores with a very decent and practical design. No-frills can be found no matter how you look at it. Furthermore the rubber feed provide a safe stand and if you plan to buy more than just one Elements they can even be stacked.

If we look at the Elements case it is well built. The plastic Western Digital has chosen even is scratch-proof to a certain extent which means that even after after using the Elements for quite a period of time it will look as good as new.

Quite noticeable was the fact that the Western Digital was almost unhearable. Furthremore the disk which is from Western Digital's Eco Green series didn't get hot at all. A consequence of this fact is that the Elements is very power efficient.

If you are looking for an external drive capable of saving up to 1.5 TByte of data which does a good job and looks decent, you and the Western Digital Elements will become very good friends.

The Western Digital Elements can be bought at Digitec to a price of CHF 105.- (est. EUR 75.-)
